Foodie lovers rejoice as, for the first time in a long time, Shahid is releasing a new TV show devoted solely to the art of cooking and food. Meet “Mat’am El Habayeb” (The Lovers’ Restaurant), starring Ahmed Malek and Huda El Mufti.
As the show is set to be released on October 3, we are going to make some guesses on what to expect in the new show:
Ahmed Malek Donning The Chef Hat
Knowing that the show will involve hands-on cooking, we have a feeling that the main lead, Ahmed Malek, will be the one donning the chef hat. He is already bubbling with charisma and fresh coolness, so it is easy to see him donned in the white chef getup as he swiftly chops up some vegetables with coolness and flair.
Our Favorite Arab Food Getting Major Screen Time
If you keep tabs on the show, you’ll know that Shahid released a little video of Bayoumi Fouad. If you watch it, your mouth will literally water as you’ll get to hear him describe Egypt’s most delicious dishes, whether it is roz meaamar (oven-baked rice) piping hot from the oven or a stuffed pigeon filled with fereek.
All these dishes are made by the traditional Egyptian mother, “set el habayib”, and with the show being called “Mat’am El Habayeb”, Fouad is saying to expect these dishes and more in the show.
The Fast-Paced Environment of the Kitchen
There are talks that this show will give us a real inside look at the fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment. If you are a fan of “The Bear,” you’re in for a treat.
A Punch of Humor
This is easy to guess as the show includes Fouad, Entesar, and Islam Ibrahim in the cast. Being categorized as a comedy show, we have a feeling that it will be packed with humor.
A Love Story Between Malek & Mufti
With it being called “Mat’am El Habayeb” and starring Malek and El Mufti, you cannot deny that these two will end up together on the show. This will make way for not just an addictive cooking show but also an adorable rom-com.
