In this edition of #WaraElMazzika, we had a very interesting conversation with one of the most promising upcoming artists, Nadim Onsy (AKA LeCaire). LeCaire has his very own radio show called ‘Cairo Based’, which airs every week on Micro Radio in Jordan and once a month on Flouka Radio in Paris.

How did you get into music?
Ever since I was young my father used to teach me all about classic rock and different instruments, as i grew older he introduced me to disco music and that’s when I started to question how to make these electronic sounds. The complete addiction stared after I bought a Daft Punk album and fell in love with music.
How would you describe your music in 3 words?
Dark, punchy, and melodic
How did “Cairo Based” come to life?
After numerous projects, unlimited music production hours, and years of breakdowns; I have decided to start a podcast introducing something relatively new to the region where melodic techno is combined with the good old techno making the listener transition from a euphoric atmosphere into festival jumping
What are your biggest influences?
My biggest influences are Charlotte De Witte and Enrico Sangiuliano.
Talk to us about your listeners from Jordan and France.
The engagement from both Jordan and Paris has been very exciting and heartfelt at the same time. Jordanian (Micro Radio) accepted the LeCaire project to be aired weekly while it was still starting and French (Radio Flouka) has been a great support for my monthly set.
What are your future plans?
My future plans are based on a new project with the famous (Machine Eat Man) and getting engaged in live performances with analog synth rather than just mixing. As of my work by the end of the summer, there will be an EP coming out with MEM. For a short term goal I am looking to perform in every major dance event in Egypt specially SandBox and as of the long term is to take my music abroad and take off from there.
