    With the dollar crisis haunting us, tuition fees were not left untouched. They have skyrocketed so bad this year, leaving freshmen-to-be and their families very confused and miserable. We’ve broken down the tuition fees of some of the leading private universities in the Egyptian capital and laid them down in this article.

     

    Please note that these fees only apply for Egyptian freshmen, they may differ for older and foreign students. Our sources for all of the following are the university websites.

     

     

    1) The American University in Cairo

    If you’re taking 12 credit hours, you’ll pay EGP 67,175 per semester.

    If you’re taking 16 credit hours, you’ll pay EGP 83,964 per semester.

    If you’re taking 18 credit hours, you’ll pay EGP 100,756 per semester.

     

     

    2) The German University in Cairo

    If you’re applying for Applied Arts, you’re going to pay EGP 38,385 per semester.

    If you’re applying for anything else, GUC splits applicants into three categories: A, B and C.

    Applicants who fall under category A will pay EGP 35,715 per semester.

    Those who fall under category B will pay EGP 42,090 per semester.

    Those who fall under category C will pay EGP 48,445 per semester.

     

     

    3) British University in Egypt

    If you’re applying for Dentistry, you’ll pay EGP 64,000 per year.

    If you’re applying for Computer Science, you’ll pay EGP 33,500 per year.

    If you’re applying for Nursing, you’ll pay EGP 15,000 per year.

    If you’re applying for Pharmacy, you’ll pay EGP 61,000 per year.

    If you’re applying for Mass Communications, you’ll pay EGP 50,000 per year.

    If you’re applying for Engineering, you’ll pay EGP 22,400 per semester.

    If you’re applying for Computer Science, you’ll pay EGP 16,500 per semester.

    If you’re applying for Management Sciences, you’ll pay EGP 19,900 per semester.

    If you’re applying for Languages, you’ll pay EGP 13,400 per semester.

    If you’re applying for Mass Communications, you’ll pay EGP 20,200 per semester.
