It’s almost the end of Ramadan so a lot of us will be soaking up those last few days by heading to many iftar and suhoor gatherings. These gatherings are great for adults but when it comes to kids, a lot of times parents struggle to find a Ramadan venue that is suitable for them. For this reason, we have curated a list of venues where kids can engage in artistic & adrenaline-filled activities and then join their families for a delicious suhoor.

    Grip ‘N Climb

This is an adventurous play park that has high ropes, low ropes, zip line and a climbing wall. You can go with your family or friends to see if they are strong enough for these challenging games. The park is located at Cairo Festival City Mall in New Cairo and you can even celebrate your child’s birthday in the most adrenaline-pumping way possible. The working hours are from 10 am to 12 am. The minimum length is 120 cm and the maximum weight is 100 kg.

After the adrenaline-fueled experience, the entire family can hit up Desoky and Soda serving up authentic Egyptian street food where each dish is a literal explosion of flavor. We highly recommend going for the classic pair of foul and falafel as well as their delicious feteer.

    Gravity Code

This is Egypt’s first trampoline center and it boasts a fun environment for people of all ages, genders, and athletic abilities to enjoy trampoline-based sports. The games there include free jump, slam dunk, dodge ball, cage ball, performance wall, and big airbag. The place’s mission is to promote wellness and encourage a more active and healthy lifestyle. Other services include a Free Style Academy and a fitness program for those who want to improve their athletic skills and add a fun twist to their workout routine.

    Via Kidzapp

Gravity Code is open in multiple branches across Cairo but we highly recommend heading to the Almaza City Center branch as it offers an out-of-the-box suhoor experience at Labash. Bringing customization to a whole new level, Labash is the kind of place where you will be served your very own qedra (a large jug used to cook fava beans) with a giant ladel accompanied by falafel and other classic dishes like white cheese and tomatoes. You’ll also be given an empty power bowl that you can fill with foul, add in some spices, olive oil and you are all set.

    Fagnoon Arts & Crafts Center

This is one of the locations in Cairo where both parents and kids can unwind and spend a few memorable hours away from the bustling city’s noise. Fagnoon, which is located in Badrshein, Giza, has recently grown in popularity among both young and old travelers to Egypt as well. There, you can take advantage of the clay-painting courses offered by Fagnoon, enjoy the freedom of the sizable playgrounds or hop on a horse, donkey, or camel for a fun excursion.

    Via Real Egypt

There are no restaurants near Fagnoon which creates the perfect opportunity for families to have an unconventional suhoor experience by setting up their own picnic. Choices are endless when it comes to what to bring whether it’s simple cheese sandwiches and packets of chips or to take things up a notch, you can bring a portable stainless steel stove to warm up classic suhoor staples like a bowl of foul.

    Zed Park

Zed Park, located in Sheik Zayed is one of the most fun parks in Cairo. You’ll get to take your kids away from the hustle and bustle of Cairo’s busy streets. The Park is located in the heart of Sheikh Zayed, at El-Horreya Street. It includes football, tennis, and basketball courts, swimming pools, and industrial lakes, as well as famous restaurants and cafes. Ticket prices vary and the ticket price does not include all games. The prices are 250 EGP per adult, and 200 EGP for children (from 6 to 12).

    Via Oxodia

Being in Zed Park is a festive experience in and of itself but to add in that touch of the Ramadan spirit, you have to hit up the Layalina Ramadan tent. Sitting in an open courtyard, multiple tables are gathered under a large canopy tent where every night guests enjoy an electrifying atmosphere of live performances from stars like Hakim. They also get to indulge in delicious suhoor trays packed with everyone’s favorites including foul, falafel and for a fun twist, sliced shawerma sandwiches.

    Il Pennello Ceramic Cafe

Il Pennello Ceramic Café and Restaurant is the type of place that combines a delicious dining experience along with some arts and crafts activities. It has several branches that are located in Heliopolis, Maadi, Sheikh Zayed and Mohandessin. It’s a great outing spot to for kids to tap into their artistic side by coloring ceramic statues and vases.

    Via Identity Magazine

After your kids finish painting, the ceramic creations come to life once they’re out of the furnace. You can then follow up that artistic activity with a delicious suhoor at the cafe. Every night, Il Pennello whips out delicious classic dishes but with a fun Italian twist like their omlette caprese (with mozeralla, pesto and tomato), and foul khawaga carlo (made with pesto and marinara sauce).

So next time you want to take out your kids this Ramadan, these places will offer you some fun activities perfect for the whole family as well as delectable suhoor experiences.
