    Nothing gets us through fasting during Ramadan like anticipating a tasty iftar…even better if it’s with a view. Many restaurants in Cairo have excelled with delectable food and breathtaking vistas that will have you anticipating not just the food but also the vibe and the scenery.

    Here is a list of restaurants that will give you the perfect mix of food and Ramadan vibes that’ll make your iftar a memorable one.

    Zooba at the Grand Egyptian Museum

    Zooba is a restaurant that has been reinventing Egyptian cuisine throughout the years. It was founded with the idea of giving traditional street food in Egypt a gourmet touch. This time, you can find Zooba at the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) offering both iftar and sohour meals. First, guests will need to buy their GEM entrance ticket through www.visit-gem.com & then call Zooba’s hotline (16082) to confirm their date, and whether they’d like to have iftar or sohour. At this branch, they offer open bread making station, with fresh baladi bread coming out of the oven as well as a fresh fiteer menu, and an open fiteer baking station. They provide a set menu for events and reservations, and an a la carte menu for walk-ins.

    Gèméza Restaurant at the Citadel of Saladin

    Gèméza restaurant offers you a chance to experience history and contemporary culture intertwined. The delectable Ramadan experience will situate you to have Iftar set in the heart of the Citadel of Saladin. This ravishing Ramadan pop-up restaurant is open for iftar for EGP1100 per person (+ VAT) and sohour EGP 700(+ VAT). You can also book out the entire venue for private and corporate events. The restaurant has received positive reviews for its freek moamar rice with duck along with the chicken tikka masala sauce.

    Saheb El Saada on El Moez Street

    Saheb El Saada is situated in one of Cairo’s oldest streets. Before the iftar meal, Saheb El Saada, which is on El Moez Street, hosts a multitude of performances. You can definitely feel Ramadan in the air at this restaurant, which features tanoura dancing and live music. Saheb El Saada is well-known for its grilled chicken, pasta-stuffed chicken tenders, oriental salads, and many mezza options. They have a second location in New Cairo and they also provide corporate iftar services. Simply contact them on WhatsApp (01286551103) a day before to arrange and get a better understanding of the prices.

    The Smokery at Palm Hills

    If you’re looking for a wonderful international cuisine Iftar in Cairo, then we recommend The Smokery Restaurant. With three branches in Katameya, Heliopolis, and Palm Hills, the restaurant offers a unique culinary experience from every part of the world. Due to the stunning view of greenery, we advise you to go to the Palm Hills branch for a superb view. From Sesame Chicken to Sushi rolls, there is almost everything for everyone’s different tastes…but all delicious.

    Mawlay Experience at Abdeen Palace

    Bridging history and tradition, Mawlay Experience kicked off last year at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, offering guests a unique dining experience. This year, the Mawlay Experience returns at the Abdeen Palace offering both iftar and sohour. Their iftar is priced at EGP1000 and covers everything from an amuse bouche of pigeon pastille, chicken mushroom soup, mezzeh, a selection of main courses such as stuffed chicken or beef medallion to delectable dessert options. To book a reservation, you can reserve your spot online.

    Heaven Lounge by the Pyramids

    To finish off, how about an iftar with a view of the Great Pyramids of Giza? definitely sounds magical. This place provides you with an oriental buffet of the finest Egyptian food while only paying EGP325.
