The Getaway – Makadi Bay’s Fort Arabesque

So every Thursday, we all sit around and wish we would have been organized and planned a weekend getaway rather then roasting in Cairo’s heat. Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda right?

Well I am going to help you with all that “where should we go” business by giving you a different option every week. Options that satisfy all and are a little outside the box and definitely worth it!

This week I am dedicating my post to Makadi Bay’s, Fort Arabesque. It’s half an hour south of Hurghada and probably has one of the most underrated bays on the coast; perfect for anyone looking to have a relaxing weekend on the beach soaking up the sun. Over the last year they have made some dramatic improvements in the hotel adding Spa facility a great gym for those of you somehow find it in you to work on holiday (something I will never understand) and the option of multiple water activities such as Kite Surfing.

Now why is this “News Worthy” or even an appealing, because as added value, Fort Arabesque also launched an extension to their hotel dubbed “The Villa’s”, we all love going on holiday with a group of friends and one of the most convenient stays is always when renting a house. This option is now available; catering to the concept of a luxury stay without the price tag to match this new aspect of a private holiday is now available. With only 14 of them and designed by “Schienbein + Pier”, a German company that specializes in spas and well being, when speaking to Mr. Jean Marc Kabalan, managing director of Fort Arabesque on his vision he stated, “My vision was to provide affordable luxury in a semi-private setting that reflects the oriental style and architecture of the Middle East.”

Although The Villa’s are located close to the main hotel clients have their own private reception, bar, lounge, dining area; the Pavilion. However, you can still enjoy all the benefits of the main resort including 7 pools, large beach, snorkeling, dive centre and evening entertainment. We found that the private terrace area in front of the villa itself was the most convenient for a chilled night with a group of friend or even for a couple looking to relax and eat in.

As per the ‘Night Life’ ,since its located approximately 20mins from Hurghada the main hub, the option of clubbing or enjoying the nightlife of the marina there is always a car ride away. You can order a car from the hotel if needed and enjoy the evening out on the town or simply stay and have dinner and drinks served at your Villa.
