Steak is one of those things that’s seems very hard to get wrong, however, in Cairo, it’s not easy finding a restaurant that does it right. The problem with ordering a steak in Cairo is that it’s very likely to be tough and just not that enjoyable, but some places know what’s up and have mastered the art of cooking a perfect steak.
JW Marriott Steakhouse – Heliopolis
If you’re in the mood to spend the big bucks, the Marriot Steakhouse is the perfect place to go for dinner. The restaurant provides a classic and elegant dining experience with steak to die for. With years of experiences, the Marriot Steakhouse should definitely be on every steak lovers list.
Charwood’s – Mohandeseen, Zamalek, Arkan
Charwood’s is one of those places that you go to with the intentions of getting a good steak. Whether you’re going for lunch or dinner, you know that the rustic atmosphere is a nice change from typical restaurants in Cairo and it also happens to be super chill.
The menu offers a large variety of cuts of meat to ensure that everyone finds what they are looking for. They also have the best baked potatoes in Cairo… just saying.
Crave – Zamalek, Maadi, Tivoli, Arkan, Cairo Festival City
Crave is the kind of place you go to when you’re not craving anything in specific, but you just want a good meal that you know will be yummy every time. Next time you go, try the steak, you won’t be disappointed.
The Smokery – Katameya Heights
The Smokery is one of my favourite places to go for a late lunch. The atmosphere is great and although it is a little bit pricy, the steak is worth going for. The Smokery focuses on quality and you can really tell by the cut of steak they provide.
Le Steak – Le Pacha
Le Steak at Le Pacha is one of those places you go to on Fridays for lunch with your family because you know the food will be good every time.
Their steak has always been one of the best and I can assure you that next time you’re stuck going out with your family, at least you know you’re going to get a good meal out of it.
Blackstone Bistro – Zamalek, Maadi
Blackstone has one of those cool vibes that reminds you of a restaurant abroad. Their steak is what they are known for. They give you the options of a few different sauces, which are all yummy, and if you’re really crazy, you will do what I do and mix a few of them together. It’s mind blowing.
Grizzly Diner – Zamalek, Downtown Mall New Cairo
Grizzly is always a chill place to go for a typical American meal, but one of their hidden gems is the steak. If you like a nice juicy steak, you will find it at Grizzly. With a side of mac and cheese and a milkshake, I don’t know what else you could ask for in life.
Chophouse – Korba
Chophouse Bistro specialises in steak. Similar to Charwood’s, it gives you the option to choose your cut of meat, which is always nice and isn’t that common in Cairo. Located in Heliopolis, it is the prime place for steak around that area.
