In this winter weather, it can be very hard to get anything productive done. When your limbs are freezing, all you really want to do is snuggle with your blanket and sip on a hot drink. It’s pretty hard to be out and about or go to work, as the wind pierces our ears. We are here to offer some suggestions on how to spend the upcoming winter days and make the most out of them.

    Tap Into Your Playful Side

With any winter expect the occasional rainy day, a day when you’ll end up cooped up in your home. A box of some board games, puzzles, or cards stored somewhere around the house can prove handy on a day like that. It’s a great way to get your family together and tap into your competitive side.

Even if you don’t have any of these games on hand, you can easily get creative and make up your own series of challenges. On TikTok, there is a viral new trend dubbed #gamesathome where groups of friends would take part in hilarious at-home party games that truly up the fun factor. One hilarious party game you can try is a challenge where the goal is to keep a piece of tissue stuck to a wall by blowing on it. Using a stopwatch, each player gets timed so that the one who keeps their tissue on the wall the longest is the winner. Many other kinds of challenges can be found on TikTok but you should be warned, you may end up slightly sore especially if you are the competitive type.

Get Your Popcorn Ready For A Movie Marathon

What can be cozier than a simple movie and a tub of popcorn? With the typical hustle of daily life, it’s hard not to crave a full day at home spent watching an endless collection of films or TV shows, back to back. It’s one of the easiest, most accessible ways to spend your time.

With the upcoming New Year, there are so many new titles planned to be released on several streaming platforms. For the comedy fans out there, you can check out the heartwarming family comedy “Family Issue” starring Maged El Kedwany while for a slice of drama, you can try out Kareem Fahmy’s “Mid Life Crisis.” If you are more of a summer person and already miss the sunny warm days, there’s always the option of watching “Ice Cream in December” or “Ismaleyah Rayeh Gai.” It’s up to you what films you pick out as the entire night is personalized to your liking so go forth and enjoy.

    Go On A Cleaning Frenzy

While sitting at home with extra time on your hands, why not do a little cleaning? There will probably be some house chores you can get over and done so that you don’t have to worry about the next day. Another way to make use of the time is some much-needed organization.

You can pick any room in the house and from there, you can start cleaning up and removing what’s not needed. Spending time doing something productive will give you a much-needed bout of satisfaction and energy. You can make it fun by rewarding yourself after you finish each part of the house that you’re planning on cleaning up.

Pick Up That Book You Always Wanted To Read

If being at home on a cold winter’s night screams boredom and you want a way to escape from the confines of those four walls, books can be a great way to do so. Options are pretty much endless, especially with the growing number of Arab authors popping up in the past couple of years. For the ultimate escape, we’d recommend any fantasy book by Egypt’s Ahmed Khaled Tawfik or a spine-chilling psychological thriller by Ahmed Mourad.

    Via What Women Want

While reading the book, a great activity you can try out to make the experience more fun is if you play around with the story and imagine different scenarios each character would go through. It’s a great way to tap into your creative juices and may even inspire you to take one of your re-imagined scenarios and turn it into your very own story.

    Catch Up With Your Friends

Who said being at home has to be lonely? In today’s modern age, there is nothing easier than picking up your phone or laptop and giving someone a call. If you’re at home, might as well make the most of your time and get in touch with that friend who you’ve wanted to make time for and never had the chance.

Hop on a video call with some of your friends, and initiate some quality conversations while you sit comfortably in your pajamas in bed. Time will fly as you each update each other on the latest happenings of your lives and maybe even add in some juicy gossip.

When it comes to staying at home during the winter months, there are so many other activities you can go for whether it’s putting on an apron and whipping up your favorite dessert in the kitchen or getting active and doing some at-home workouts in the luxury of your room. Whatever activity you pick out, we hope it will get you out of the usual winter blues that come with every season.
