Lovers of chocolates, those bars of creamy, rich decadence, have been in for a treat for some time now as Egypt has been having a literal chocolate revolution.

Local chocolate makers have been churning out the finest bars of chocolates, but recently, they’ve also added a bit of glitz to their chocolate creations. Let us take a look at the ones dominating both chocolate shops and supermarket aisles:

    Despacito

Known as the popular Egyptian patisserie shop taking over the country in spots like Cairo, Port Said, and Minya, Despacito is the ultimate dessert spot that continuously evolves and takes on the latest trends. It is a spot that does it all, as it is known as a patisserie, bakery, chocolate specialist, and restaurant.

For the past couple of weeks, they hopped on the latest trend, the stuffed konafa chocolate, and not just that, they came up with their own batch of stuffed chocolates.

Under the name BUZZ Chocolate, they created a variety of flavors, including cheesecake, yogurt and blueberries, baklava, biscuits, and pistachio konafa.

What’s cool is that they opened a massive branch in New Cairo and are selling their chocolates in Egypt’s supermarkets.

    Mōko

Also taking over supermarket aisles, Mōko is the homegrown chocolate artisanal brand beloved by many.

What made the brand stand out was that it became the first chocolatier to offer customized chocolate bars made instantly in the store. They like to take risks and began introducing out-of-the-box flavors like wasabi, Tonka, and matcha.

Along with their artisanal chocolates, they also knew how to churn out chocolate bars and sell them at supermarkets across Egypt. If you head to any supermarket, you’ll find them selling Mōko bars with fun flavors like praline and hazel. This means that they know how to cater to all types of chocolate lovers.

    Chocolate Factory

Taking chocolates to a new level is Heliopolis chocolatier Chocolate Factory known to constantly evolve and break new grounds with their chocolate creations.

They do it all, from classy and fancy chocolates like their milk chocolate with coffee ganache to their more quirky on-trend chocolates like Baklava Hazelnut and of course the famous Kunafa Pistachio.

Now, they are taking things a step further by staying even more on-trend and introducing the viral crackling cup to their menu. It is basically coffee served in a cup covered in hardened chocolate, which, when squeezed, makes a satisfying crack. We can’t wait to see what other trends they will bring to life.

    Fleur

Changing the way chocolate can be presented, Fleur is the chocolatier all about adding a touch of whimsy to its creations.

That is why, at their store, you’ll find their glossy multicolored crystal and chakra-inspired Belgian chocolates boasting flavors and colors that benefit each chakra and its matching stone or Belgian chocolate thins shaped as popsicle sticks featuring intricate 3D etchings.

They even hopped on the pistachio konafa chocolate trend and made their own thin bars in all kinds of flavors, including Caramel Cookies, crunchy brownies, marshmallows and cookies, and the famous Konafa Pistachio bar. You can indulge in their whimsical chocolates by heading to their store at Garden 8.

    Choco Diamonds

Serving up 100% natural Belgian chocolates are Choco Diamonds, the chocolatier specialized in all things customized chocolates. You just give them a call and consult them on the type of chocolate creation you want them to make.

They excel at special occasions. For example, if there is a graduation, you can ask them to make you a bar of chocolate shaped any way you like. They can also add a fondant graduation cap, the name of the graduate, and any addition of your choice, whether it is a wedged piece of cookie or a gummy bear.

As with all these chocolate spots, they also hopped on the pistachio konafa trend and made their own cool versions.

These are the coolest chocolate brands and stores in Egypt right now. Tell us, did we miss any spots? If so, what are they called, and what makes them special?
