Ramadan is less than a month away and that means serious television drama and binging. For the past few years, we’ve been blessed with the most heart-warming stories of love, gut-wrenching tales of infidelity and tear-jerking journeys of upper Egyptians and family revenge.
It looks like 2019 will be the year of suspense, car chases, post-accident amnesia, and street fights. I can honestly say I’m excited about Yasmine Sabry’s big leading role debut. The trailer left me betting on the show as the plot is filled with conniving women, scheming, toxic forbidden love, and revenge.
It’s quite noticeable that most series have almost-identical trailers; this isn’t necessarily shocking as nearly all of them are produced by Tamer Morsy’s production house, Synergy. Surprisingly, Mostafa Shaaban and Yasmine Abdel Aziz decided to ditch comedy in 2019, join almost every other actor and take the Synergy action road. We’ll just have to wait three more weeks to decide who wins the Ramadan 2019 race.
