Are you excited about your trip to Abu Dhabi? With its cutting-edge architecture and dazzling shopping megacenters, the capital of the UAE boasts an impressive number of hotel guests from all over the world. Figures show that more than 2 million visitors spent their vacation in Abu Dhabi in 2018. Are they all drawn by stunning futuristic buildings? Not likely.

Once you set foot in Abu Dhabi, you start to realize that this exciting city has so much more to offer. Care for some sunny days and outdoor fun? Explore some of the most popular outdoor activities in Abu Dhabi and enjoy this amazing city from a whole different perspective.

Are you up for a game of tennis?

If you’re a true tennis lover looking for an active vacation, this heaven on Earth offers a full-range experience to all the guests who like to be active and stay in shape while on a holiday.

    Explore the desert

Cruising through the desert in the evening sun is one of a kind experience. For early birds, there are morning safari tours which allow visitors to capture amazing photos and enjoy an unforgettable scenery. The exotic trip to the desert also includes a camel ride to a Bedouin camp.

How about a race over the sand dunes? A jeep driving through the desert? Those who like speed and adventure can enjoy sand boarding, quad biking and a race over the sand dunes in 4×4. Organized safari tours are a unique chance to explore the desert and have great fun.

Feel like a pro on Yas Marina Circuit

Let professional guides introduce you to the world of F1 racing or try karting on the 800-meter track. Explore the world of elite racing drivers on one of the most progressive racetracks in the world. Situated on a manmade island, Yas Marina Circuit is one of the most popular attractions for F1 lovers, but runners love it as well.

For those who wish to try their running shoes on the famous racetrack, the track is open on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. If you skip indoor fitness classes while on a holiday, running on the F1 track sounds like a perfect way to stay fit and have fun in Abu Dhabi.

    Jet ski rental

With the assistance of helpful and professional staff, jet skiing has become one of the favorite outdoor activities in Abu Dhabi. It is one of the favorite tourist attractions in the emirate for sure.

The fact that you have never placed your foot on a jet ski is irrelevant. The rental companies in Abu Dhabi are very helpful in explaining the basics of jet skiing and all the customers eventually go through this experience without any obstacles. What’s more, is that they have great fun learning!

Take a boat ride near Corniche beach

The Corniche beachfront is one of the best outdoor destinations, combining the natural beauty of the open Arabian Gulf with a number of amenities and activities for children and adults. Free sports facilities include five volleyball courts, two football pitches, and three playing fields. But most visitors fall for the stunning view of Abu Dhabi from a boat cruise. Rent a speedboat or go snorkeling; the possibilities are endless!

However, if you’re looking for an oasis of peace and quiet away from the speed and sports, the Corniche beach is also the place for you. There are morning and evening yoga lessons at the beach, hosted by the local instructors. If you’re more inclined to this kind of outdoor fun, good for you. There are so many benefits of yoga for the whole body and mind. A soothing class at one of the most beautiful beaches of Abu Dhabi sounds surreal.

Sunbathe and exercise at Sadyaat beach

This picturesque sandy beach with crystal clear water is a sight for sore eyes. More importantly, it’s a perfect place for leisure. Equipped with all the amenities you might need, this place is a haven for sunbathing and relaxation. If you like it calm and quiet, enjoy the lazy afternoons under the parasols on the pristine sand of Sadyaat beach.

For those who prefer VIP convenience, there’s a premium Saadiyat Beach Club. The private beach is open only to the club guests. The club employs fitness trainers to work with those who wish to stay in shape or participate in wellness programs. If this sounds appealing, but beyond your means, why don’t you become a freelance trainer? The opportunity to become a part of this outstanding working environment is one of a kind.

    Al Wathba Cycling Track

This modern cycling center offers 8km, 16km, 20km, 22km, and 30km loops for biking enthusiasts. The safety of the track and available amenities provide unparalleled comfort for those who love to ride at all times of the day.

Al Wathba Cycling Center is a true haven for biking enthusiasts. The beautiful route is supplemented with a 24/7 coffee shop and affordable bike rent. Equipped with solar panels and lights, Al Wathba Cycling Center provides a safe and clearly visible environment for those who like to go on night rides.
