    Past, Present & Future : Performances From Dubai’s Expo 2020 That We Are Living For

    With pavilions that encourage immersive cultural experiences by highlighting and celebrating each country’s individuality, Expo 2020 Dubai has been able to bring the heritage of many nations together in one place. With that being said, music is always an integral aspect of any celebration, whether it be cultural or artistic. This is because we prefer to dance and listen to music over everything else! Therefore, Expo 2020 Dubai is unique in that it brings together musicians from all over the world to present visitors with unforgettable experiences.

    A number of musicians performed during the months and previous year, providing an iconic experience for guests from all over the world. Hence, we’ll delve into the musicians who will be performing this month as well as those who have previously appeared. So, if you’re in Dubai or planning a vacation there anytime soon, here are some of the bands and musicians who will be performing, and while you’re there, check out some of their previous performances!

    Iconic Past Performances

    Marshmello

    While incorporating different genres into his tracks, the American DJ is one of the most influential artists in the EDM scene. His true identity is unknown to this day, but his music speaks volumes about him, as he collaborated with world-famous musicians to create incredible tracks. Marshmello performed at the Jubilee Stage on March 10, and we can’t wait! Furthermore, this was not his first visit to the country; he performed at the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix after-race concert back in 2019.

    Alicia Keys

    The queen of R&B/Soul music, Alicia Keys, played at the Expo in Dubai. She was the first foreign singer to perform as part of Expo 2020 Dubai’s Infinite Nights series, which began on Dec. 10.

    Coldplay

    Coldplay, a British rock band, performed on Feb. 15 to raise awareness about the UAE’s Net-Zero by 2050 strategic initiative to reduce hazardous emissions that have been destroying our planet’s ecosystem for years.

    John Newman

    Following the announcement that Prince William would be attending Expo to commemorate the United Kingdom’s National Day, John Newman was confirmed to play at Al Wasl Dome on Feb. 10. Hence, this was a day dedicated to celebrating everything UK, taking over the entire Expo site and encompassing everything from culture to sport to innovation and music.

    Black Coffee

    On Feb. 11, South African DJ Black Coffee performed at the Jubilee Stage, where he was praised for his unique beats, which included elements of jazz as well as tropical sounds.

    Upcoming Performances

    Havasi

    The Hungarian artist is known for his spectacular performances that combine classical and rock music. Havasi is a pianist and a composer who will be performing at the Jubilee Stage on March 19 with the aim to give an extraordinary show.

    Apo & The Apostles

    Apo & The Apostles is a Jerusalem-based multilingual rock band that blends various genres of music, including blues, dance, and some Eastern influences. They’ve also established themselves as one of the most popular contemporary bands in the Middle East. They’ll be performing at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre on March 28.

    Giovanni Sollima

    On Friday, March 25, Giovanni Sollima will lead 100 Cellos in a performance that will enchant the audience with classical music and pop hits. Sollima is a world-renowned cellist who has performed in front of sold-out audiences in a variety of nations. The Jubilee Stage will host this performance on March 25.

    Ameli Paul

    This electronic music duo from Germany is recognized for its strange music, which features great vocals complemented by synth and field recordings. They’ll be performing on March 23 at the German Pavilion’s auditorium.
