A few days ago Cairo Fashion Festival, in collaboration with Cairo Festival City Mall brought to you by ‘Selfie Expert’ OPPO hosted the capital’s largest fashion event for the eighth time.

The Egyptian fashion scene blossomed from the studios and workshops of designers, with golden hands and sheer incomparable talents to the runway.

From fashion guru Wadih El Najjar, to talented actor and singer Hany Adel to the beautiful actress Hana Shiha; Cairo Fashion Festival’s red carpet was lit and adorned with an ensemble of Cairo’s fashion elite, hottest celebrities, and social media influencers.

Did we mention that Hany Adel and Hana Shiha just couldn’t help but take selfies using the “Selfie Expert” OPPO camera phone!

And, of course who was going to cater to these glamorous guests other than The Edwards; with their delicious food and their high quality service.

Cairo Fashion Festival season 8 was hosted by the stunning radio presenter Zeinab Hegarty, dressed in the remarkable designs of Vivian Moawad Couture’s S/S collection. Hegarty introduced the show with wit, keeping the audience engaged and intrigued.

Throughout the day, guests enjoyed CFF8’s fashion shows at The Grand Amphitheatre with over 2000 seats. Designers had the opportunity to display their creative designs, their latest collection in a much more intimate setting, all thanks to the talented stylist Gehad Abdallah.

Indeed, Abdallah’s hard work meant that  guests could admire the designs up-close and personal. The designers featured in the fashion presentation included Amira El Gohary, Pacinthe Badran, FDC, Esraa Shahin, and DHL.

No fashion festival can happen without a runway show lined with a gorgeous line-up of models decked in signature pieces; this year the runway was nothing short of incredible.

The first designer to showcase her work was Bardess, who amazed everyone by her wonderful artistic pieces.

Bardees was followed by Amanda Kamhawy’s Satin Roses Collection; Kamhawy actually came all the way from New York to steal everyone’s eyes with her breathtaking work, and we assure you that she accomplished that mission successfully.

Following Kamhawy was Sara Gabr, whose collection this year was inspired by the physiological and spiritual meanings of colors.

Gabr’s colorful collection was proceeded by that of Eva Habashi Couture collection titled “La Liberté”; this collection was inspired by the freedom of nature’s most beautifully liberated creatures, birds and butterflies.

Norine Farah -who has greatly grown since she first started three years ago and is currently dressing Cairo’s top socialites and front-line stars- also showcased her very first ready-to-wear collection titled “Captured.”

Everyone was amazed by her very own self-made landscape printed fabrics that created an overall creative and artistic mood.

No doubt, everyone was waiting for the closing ceremony! This is because the ingenious Hama Hinawy -whose work strolled through a lot of the world’s red carpets and dressed the hottest celebrities and royalty, such as the elegant Queen Rania herself- showcased her royal collection in Egypt for the very first time, after having it showcased in Milan just a few weeks prior to CFF.

Omar Madkour  -the founder of Cairo Fashion Festival- stated that he is really thankful for Cairo Festival City Mall for their efforts, and for bringing Hama all the way from Jordan.

We are even more thankful for Cairo Festival City Mall’s collaboration with the London College of Fashion.

    via: Instagram

For the second year in a row, Cairo Festival City Mall is fully and officially sponsoring a grant for a short course given to one of CFF’s designers in 2017, and taught by and in the London College of Fashion.

The lucky recipient of this grand is none other than the incredibly creative Pacinthe Badran, who amazed everyone with her runway collection this year. One tradition that was also renewed this year at Cairo Fashion Festival was DHL Express Egypt’s competition.

    via: Instagram

Because DHL is very well known in helping international designers grow their businesses worldwide, everyone was excited that this tradition was gaining renewal, and that DHL continues to stand as CFF’s official logistics partner.

Last season, some of CFF’s talented designers created beautiful pieces inspired by DHL Express Egypt logo colors. This time, DHL upped the game and challenged the participants by assigning each of them a task that required them to design a dress or suit inspired by different countries; all whilst bearing in mind the colors and identity of the DHL logo.

At the end of the festival, all the designers stepped onto the stage with their models to present their outstanding dresses and suits. DHL representative Nada Rezk announced “Ahmed Hamdy” to be the lucky winner of a dream trip to England.

CFF did not only showcase fashion this year, it also showcased the latest trends in hair and make-up sponsored by Kriss Beauty Salons and Make Up HQ, and beauty sponsor Garnier.

Cairo Fashion Festival joined forces with Fashion Republic, Al Agabany, Event House and The Hub Production to yet again deliver an entertaining, trendy, cultured, fun, and fashionable night.

    via: Instagram

And, to ensure that everyone was given the golden treatment, Cairo Fashion Festival selected none other than Dusit Thani Lakeview Cairo hotel, as its official hotel sponsor, and Virgin Megastore as its silver sponsor.

    via: Instagram

We can also safely say that the success of Cairo Fashion Festival wouldn’t be possible without its media sponsors: Daily News, Ladybird, Insight, Flair and 365 things to do in Cairo.

WE SAID THIS: We can’t wait for the regional surprises in store for us next year at CFF9.
