For the past two years, Mashrou ElSadaa has slowly turned some of Egypt’s slums and isolated areas into pieces of art. The project has been encouraging everyone to help spread happiness across Egypt via color therapy.
Color therapy, also known as chromotherapy or light therapy, is a type of holistic therapy that uses the power of light and color to affect a person’s mood and physical or mental health.
From projects turning Nuweiba into a piece of art to coloring, painting schools, and finishing concrete walls of houses in Abu Hemeid village in Sinnuris, and so much more, Mashrou Saada has been a blessing driven by the citizens themselves who want to witness change.

In their latest move to make people’s lives better, Mashrou ElSaada recently posted on their Facebook page a call for everyone to take a place in their newest initiative. This time, the volunteers decided to tackle mental illness and the stigma associated with it.

Everyone is asked to share their thoughts and ideas on how to make someone with mental illness happier. Whether it’s something as simple as a conversation, a funny status or video, coloring the mental facilities or any other creative idea you can come up with, is more than welcome.
Comedian, Marwan Younis, also had a say on this and publicly shared it in a video on Facebook. You too can partake in their latest initiative by clicking here.
