Why Nina Abdel Malak Is Not ‘Your Typical Lebanese Singer’

With 1.7 million followers on Instagram, music videos that have received over one million views on YouTube.com, and vlogger-like videos that received hundreds of thousands of views, Nina Abdel Malak – the previous Star Academy contestant – has surely caught our attention as a starlet on the rise.

Here is the list of a reasons why we truly believe that Nina Abdel Malak is – exactly what she says in her Instagram bio. – “not your typical Lebanese singer.” She’s gaining stardom fast anyway, but we suspect it won’t be long until she starts using something such as link tree so she can fit the many links she’ll eventually need in her bio to find her music as well as book concert tickets and more.

Nina possesses a very girl – next – door look…

Nina’s look is very young, fresh, and natural. She often appears in her videos without any make up, and we just love that raw aesthetic that Nina embodies. Not to mention the fact that we – quite frankly – miss it.

With the wave of typical fashionistas and Instagram stars on the rise, our feeds have become extremely saturated with heavy contour lines, dark lipsticks, and lots of highlighter.

Nina, on the other hand, embodies a much more natural look. This girl has no problem with her freckles, no issues with owning a very basic make up look, or wearing big hoodies.

    Nina’s hair…

It looks like Kylie Jenner is Nina’s spirit animal. From pink to purple to grey to blonde, Nina has truly embraced the colorful wig trend that Kylie Jenner has started.

Nina, however, steers away from being as over the top as the younger Jenner; she truly stays true to her aforementioned natural and cute girl look.

    Nina loves her followers…

Nina truly takes the time to answer her followers’ questions, and talk to them. She is not one of those people who says “my fans are my everything”, but then proceeds not to give them the time of day.

Nina also loves to keep it real with her fans. There is a general sense you get while watching Nina addressing her fans, that she answers questions like she is genuinely talking to friends.

Nina’s singing voice and music videos…

Because Nina is young and still on the rise, she possesses much more room for experimentation, originality, and flexibility in her music.

Indeed, Nina’s musical lyrics and the general aesthetics of her videos are but a mere reflection of her young soul and free – spirit.

Did we mention Nina’s angelic singing voice? It really seems that with musical artists these days true talent is a rare circumstance. This is not the case with Nina, at all.

Nina’s show “Kohla w Homra” (Eyeliner and Lipstick)…

While the idea of a hair, make up, and general beauty tips show has been done a lot, it has not been done quite like this in the Middle Eastern region. Firstly, the fact that Nina does not identify herself as a beauty blogger/vlogger adds a refreshing breath of accessibility to Nina’s show.

Nina appears to be this everyday girl who is a bit interested in beauty, hair, and make up, just like every other girl is.

The fact that Nina occasionally hosts and interviews everyday girls/women makes Nina’s show more airy and light than most beauty shows.

    Nina is funny as hell…

From her everyday Snapchat and Instagram stories, to her YouTube videos, Nina not only does everything with a beautiful smile, she also does everything with an endearing sense of humor that cracks us up.

Unlike some typical fashionistas, starlets, and songstresses who just seem arrogant and forget to smile, or others who have to rehears being funny, Nina is funny in a relatable and non-staged way.

WE SAID THIS: If you do not find Nina cute enough, there is an Instagram account for her bulldog that you can follow.
