As many of us, here in Egypt, by now must’ve heard about Mr. Robot for many reasons. But mostly because lead actor Rami Malek is Egyptian; but there are far more exciting reasons we absolutely can’t wait for season two to start, and fortunately, it’s coming back into our lives in less than a month.
Mr. Robot follows a young computer programmer who suffers from social anxiety disorder and forms connections through hacking. He’s recruited by a mysterious anarchist, who calls himself Mr. Robot. One of the reasons we’re most excited is that USA, the broadcasting network, just announced that they added TWO more episodes to the next season; making the next season 12 episodes. Here are other reasons why we’re totally psyched about it coming back:
Whiterose
The first season of Mr. Robot was widely known for its cliffhangers and this was the biggest one which was a scene in the post-credits of the season finale; we see Whiterose, previously seen as the woman that helped Elliot (Rami Malek) pull out the global attack, dressed as a man and talking to Phillip Price, CEO of E-Corp, at a formal event. Price states that he knows who’s responsible for the attack and the craziest part that no one seems to be worried. Most importantly, what’s Whiterose doing with Price? A lot of questions that we’re waiting for to be answered!
Tyrell Wellick
There’s no doubt that Wellick was someone to watch out for in season one; working as an enemy to Elliot, then later being seen helping Elliot to push the cyber-attack by fsociety. The series skipped ahead three days as we see Elliot waking up in Wellick’s car with no recollection of what happened after the chaos spread the world proceeding the successful attack. Wellick is nowhere to be found and in season two’s promo it’s revealed that Wellick is held responsible for the cyber-attack, with no clue of Elliot being part of it. Wellick’s disappearance is a huge question that will be answered at the beginning of the next season.
Who’s Knocking at Elliot’s Door?
A lot of answers come to mind when we think about the last scene in the finale; Elliot’s home and someone knocks on the door and once he opens the door the episode ends! It was just a cruel cliffhanger as many characters come to mind when thinking who might possibly be knocking at that time.
Elliot’s Alter Ego
Firstly, he introduced himself as Mr. Robot when he recruited Elliot, then we find out he’s Elliot’s father who faked his death, then realizing that he’s Elliot’s persona who he created to help him. In the last episode we see Mr. Robot appearing only after Elliot needed him to answer his questions; which means Elliot can now control him to appear whenever he needs to. The question becomes: How will Elliot now interact with his persona? That’s an interesting event especially that Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) announced that he’s set to return to season two.
