Meet Um Khaled: The Egyptian TikTok Sensation Known for Her Late-Night Cravings and Candid Life

When you open TikTok, you’ll usually find Gen Z kids attempting the latest dance challenge or influencers testing out a product or reviewing a restaurant. Yet, it can be rare to encounter real-life people just chilling and being themselves at home.

Thankfully, those kinds of accounts have begun to pop up, and our favorite so far has to be Egyptian stay-at-home mother of two, Um Khaled, also known as Doaa Gaber. She is known as the blogger who got more followers than Yousra and Yasmine Sabri. Let’s take a look at what makes her special:

    Her Unique Persona

About 4 years ago, Um Khaled decided to launch her very own YouTube Channel and dive into the world of vlogging. She was a very fresh face in the YouTube scene and a very different face at that. With her being an Alexandrian veiled Egyptian mother coming from a middle-class background, she was considered very unique.

Because she was so unique, her content was quite different from the rest of the online world. That is why when she hopped onto TikTok, she went viral, amassing more than 5 million followers.

    Her Meticulous Routine

If you’ve watched any of her old videos, you’ll know that Um Khaled doesn’t hold back when giving you a proper glimpse into her life. In her older YouTube videos, she filmed plenty of vlogs where we’ll see her going about her day, folding the laundry, making the beds and cooking with the whole video accompanied by her own narration to give it that storytelling flow.

Those kinds of videos from an Egyptian stay-at-home mom are pretty rare, but over the years, they have managed to earn a special fanbase.

    Her Late Night Snack Sessions

Every night, Um Khaled gets intense hunger cravings. This is totally relatable, and what is great about her is that she isn’t shy to take the camera and have us join her as she whips up something in the kitchen during the late hours of the night.

The thing is, a late-night snack at Um Khaled is not what you may expect. Imagine hefty portions of pasta and fried chicken at 2 a.m. in the morning or sogok (Egyptian sausages) cooked in heaps of butter and spices at midnight. If she makes a late-night snack, she goes all out.

As she cooks, she knows how to keep you entertained. The whole time, she’ll be talking and teasing viewers. She’ll say all types of things, like how her food is light, how much she loves to eat, and her undeniable love of macaroni (pasta). Her down-to-earth approach to life and how a simple bowl of pasta can cheer her up make her a joy to watch.

Her Interactions With Her Son & Husband

She isn’t the only one that graces the screen on her channel. Being married and having kids, her son and husband always make some sort of appearance.

With her husband, it is an adorable lovey-dovey relationship and can be considered a relationship goal for many, as there is even a video of him taking her out to eat feseekh and ringa (fermented fish) at 2 in the morning merely because she was craving it.

Her son also likes to appear on camera. You’ll know he’s being filmed because you’ll hear his voice coming from a mile away. He’s got that perky Mickey Mouse voice and a lot of energy. Many times, Um Khaled can barely keep up with him, but it sure makes for some hilarious on-screen moments.

Her Hilarious & Candid Review Of Food

If you know Um Khaled well, then you’ll know that she loves trying out new things, especially food. The best thing about her is that she keeps it real. If she doesn’t like something, you will know.

From gobbling down rambutan and mangosteen (exotic fruits) to testing out Egyptian instant pasta brands and immediately regretting it. The grimace she makes on screen when she doesn’t like what she is eating is extremely priceless.

Whether she’s whipping one of her late-night “snacks” in the kitchen (yes, those quotation marks were intentional) or hanging out with her son and husband, Um Khaled is a real breath of fresh air.
