Representing Egypt, African Champion Habiba Marzouk put on an amazing display of grace with her Ancient Egyptian-themed costumes and routine during the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship in Spain.
Playing for the Wadi Degla club nationally, this 21-year-old sensation does it all in the world of rhythmic gymnastics participating in Team, All Round, Ball, Hoop, Ribbon, and Clubs.
Since making a clean sweep in the African Championship in 2020 by earning gold for all contests, she and her Senior-level ranked teammates, Aliaa Saleh and Farida Hussein, have consistently earned more gold medals for Egypt.
As this female-only sport is dominated by Eastern Europe and Asia; Marzouk is doing an awesome job putting Egypt and Africa on the world map, Marzouk expressed her excitement on Instagram, saying, “it’s about the fun you get through the journey that we sometimes don’t feel from the overwhelming hours of training. I don’t want to retire one day and regret not living a moment to the fullest.”
With the tournament in Valencia over, we wish Marzouk and her teammates luck in her endeavors leading up to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
