A Guide to Keep You Fit and Guilt-Free in El Gouna this Eid

The Eid holiday is around the corner, and people are getting ready to get back into their summer clothes and lay around in their bathing suits all day. Since most vacations this year will be longer than the usual four days, you might feel out of shape halfway through your trip, especially with El Gouna’s infamous steaks. But with a few of my favorite tricks and tips, you’ll spend your vacation worry-free and guilt-free.

    1. Do what you can’t do in Cairo

Despite what many believe, there are so many outdoor activities and work out facilities in El Gouna. First off, what better place to go for a run than on the marina or by the beach? It’s almost impossible to go for a run around your neighborhood in Cairo, so make use of your day and go for a run, stroll or jog. With an amped up play list, you’re good to go. All you need is 30 minutes, which is like six songs!

    2. Participate in water activities

Next time you go to El Gouna, sign up for a kite surfing course or other water activities that will interest you, teach you and tone you. Other than the fact that you’ll get an effortless killer tan, you’ll also be participating in a fun activity to keep you fit. You’ll probably even discover new muscles you never thought you had. Make a list of things you’d like to learn in or on the water and just go for it.

    3. Lax Gym and Be Fit

If you’re not a fan of running, then hit the gym. Lax Gym in El Gouna offers classes from yoga, spinning, Zumba and full body work outs to Aly Mazhar’s outdoor Eid Boot Camp Training. Be Fit is also offering classes every day from the 15th to the 19th of October. For more info call 01001611585. Work out in the morning and you’ll feel guilt-free indulging in your anticipated delicious Gouna meals!

    4. After hours eating? That’s a no-no

There’s a reason why you can never find anything to eat in El Gouna after midnight – it’s because you shouldn’t be eating that late! If you had that piece of steak from Pier 88 or Chez Chantel before starting your night, then this should satiate you till the morning after, when you are free to have as big of a breakfast as you like!

    5. Best Way All the Way

Pre shop and stock up on healthy snacks, fruits, granola bars, oatmeal, nuts, and water before you start your week vacation. The more you have to eat, the less you’ll compromise with unhealthy, fatty meals. Hungry after hours? Have one of those healthy snacks you picked up. You’ll wake up lighter, happier and ready for that bikini!

    6. Don’t wait till 4pm for your first meal!

If you keep your appetite empty all day and eat all of a sudden at a later hour, you get bloated. Yes, bloated! To avoid this issue, keep a three-hour difference between one snack and the other before you go for your big filling dinner. By doing so, you prepare your system to digest your meal and you avoid the feeling of passing out after!

WE SAID THIS: Enjoy your Eid and indulge in all that El Gouna has to offer by having fun and staying healthy!
