The nominees list for music’s highest anticipated event of the year is out, and it is exactly what everybody expected.

Last year’s show was the second most watched Grammys in history, drawing 39.9 million viewers, and we expect that this year won’t be any different.

Jay-Z topped the list with nine nods. Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams received seven nominations each, as did first-time nominees Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Kendrick Lamar.

Drake landed five noms, while 17-year-old singer and first-time nominee Lorde was nominated in four different categories, including Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

And Beyonce made history with her nod for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Part II (On the Run)”, making her the most ever nominated woman in Grammy Awards history, with 46 career nominations.

Some of the nominations were announced during a live concert broadcast, which featured performances by Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lorde and more. A highlight of the show was a tribute to Nelson Mandela, who passed away this weekend.
