Coming back for its 27th season is one of Dubai’s top entertainment and shopping hubs: Global Village. Planning to open on October 25th, this year’s edition brings together several new additions and surprises that go beyond the 6-month festival itself. Every year, visitors get to witness a melting pot of cultures through kiosks, restaurants and shows stemming from countries all across the globe.
In celebration of its 27th season, there will be 27 pavilions representing different countries. To celebrate more countries, an entirely new attraction known as “Road of Asia” is planned to be included. It will give visitors a chance to explore the East through 13 Asian countries including Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bhutan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia and more. Along its long brightly lit pedestrian walkway, visitors will get to check out its 43 kiosks selling a wide range of Asian arts and crafts.
Oman and Qatar will also be joining the festivities with their very first pavilions at the village. They will be joining other countries including the UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Morocco, Russia and many more. The 6-month event will also be seeing some new entertainment. Global Village will bring back its famous characters Ozka, Waleef and Zoya to perform new shows and adventurous stories. There is also a star-studded line up including America’s Got Talent V-Unbeatable and the Filipino dance group Urban Crew.
Yet, the biggest surprise of all are the recently announced VIP Packs. They will be on sale starting from September 24th but they can be pre-booked for 70 AED from September 17th until the 22nd. These packs offer several perks including free or discounted access to several Global Village experiences like their new private Cabanas that can take up to eight people and include butler service. It also gives visitors access to VIP parking as well as a limited edition candle made by Global Village. Other perks include special offers for attractions outside of Global Village like Burj al Arab and Roxy Cinemas.
Muhannad Ishak, the Senior Manager of Global Village announced a new addition to this year’s VIP packs:
“In celebration of our 27th season, we have hidden a golden coin inside one of the packs which will give one fortunate buyer a Dh27,000 cash prize. Imagine all the shopping, dining and attractions the lucky finder will be able enjoy with that!”
