Ramadan can be a tough month for many, there’s the fasting coupled with the flipped schedule, making it easy to feel fatigued and dazed. Add to that the daily pressure of figuring out the main meal for iftar as well the daily onslaught of new ads on TV. When Ramadan comes to a close and it’s time for Eid al-Fitr, it’s prime time for everyone to unwind. By that point, all that we’ll want to do is simply relax and have the ultimate timeout during our vacation. That is why we put together a list of things you can do during the holidays to guarantee a refreshing break.

    Catch Up On That Sleep

Use the vacation time to really make up on much needed sleep, even if it means 10 hours if you can. Making up for those tiresome nights will do wonders for your mind and body. Time to make your bed the only best friend you need, and get all cozy in it!

    Get A Much Needed Massage

Those long hours working or sitting by a desk are no good for our bodies. Booking yourself a massage during this holiday or heading to the spa is just what your body craves. Let loose all those stubborn knots and calm those sore muscles for the rest of the vacation.

Go On A Social Media Cleanse

Sometimes the world can be too loud. With daily human interactions and keeping up with the news, the world surely can be quite hectic. The next best option for you to unplug and unwind is to detox from the social media world. Turn off your phone if you can, and cut off from the world for a day or two. Comparing this mode to living through a screen can be a sense of relief.

Catch Up On Those TV Shows You Missed

Honestly, the amount of TV shows that were out this Ramadan are too many to count. To be able to watch all the shows you want whilst still living your life with all the responsibilities at hand seems a little farfetched. That’s why the Eid al-Fitr holiday seems to be the perfect time to catch up on all the shows you missed, and binge-watch them for days.

Head To The Cinema For The New Eid Releases

In case you feel like doing a group activity, one that a lot of us look forward to every year, then hitting up the cinema should be making it to your Eid itinerary. Just picture it, you standing in line, getting that buttered popcorn, a couple of your favorite snacks and sweets and resting your head back, ready for the influx of pure entertainment. Creating these fun memories with your family may very well be just what all of you need.

    Enjoy An Early Breakfast

Throughout Ramadan, we all got to have many iftar gatherings and meals throughout the month. So, we have a feeling that you probably missed having a simple breakfast in the actual wee hours of the morning. There are so many great restaurants to hit up including Ovio and Eatery. Whether it’s for a delicious breakfast or even a hearty brunch it’s time to take your friends and family out and indulge in that morning spread.

Host A Barbeque On Your Balcony Or Roof

If you’re not going out or traveling, why not bring the holiday within the comforts of your home? Light a fire on that coal, have someone assigned to fan it out, and grill the day away. Go all out with the menu and make sure to include classics like some juicy ribs as well as some shish taawouk and kofta. The choices are literally endless and will make for that addictive scent that may even make your neighbors want to come up and join.

Visit Historical Places Within Your City

For a more adventurous holiday, satisfy that youthful and wild trait of yourself by visiting some of the most historical and/or underrated locations. Be it museums, old streets or gardens, immerse yourself in literally any historical place within your city and marvel at its authenticity.

Whatever activity you pick out, just the mere idea of having a break and getting to spend time with family is sure to energize you and give you that needed post-Ramadan rest. To make the most of this vacation, unwind and try to be in the moment to relish each day as it comes.
