A slew of pristine beaches and high-end, carefree vacation resorts are things Mexico is most known for, besides the scrumptious tacos of course! We’re not arguing with that, obviously, but Mexico has so much more to offer and many not-so-hidden gems that yet need further exploration.

Mexico, with all its splendor and bouquet of activities they have to offer, cannot be encapsulated in one article. However, in this piece, we’ll be shedding the light on the most prominent wonders of Mexico, its states, beaches, and outdoorsy summer activities that you should never miss when being there.

Have a ride on board of a trajinera in Xochimilco

    Via Mexico rutamagica

Technically, this is a “Mexican version of the Venice canals,” with more ambiance of fiesta. It boasts ancient canals and manmade islands that have been developed into a place of attraction where visitors can have an unmatched experience.

Visitors can hire boats at any of the docks, and once on the water. There are also floating mariachi bands and other musicians that you can hire to provide entertainment and boats sell all kinds of food and drinks for passengers. You will find boats with vendors offering toys and other souvenirs too for visitors on board.

Have a dive in the Cancún’s Underwater Museum

    via Viator

Dotted with magnificent Mayan temples, Quintana Roo is a Mexican state on the Yucatán Peninsula. It’s known for its beautiful bodies of waters like cenotes and pools carved in caves. Also, it has a Cancún underwater museum, where you can literally swim in an underwater art gallery and feast your eyes on some fine statues and a jaunty beetle car!

Visit the MUSA Museo de las Artes Universidad in Guadalajara

    Via Mexico Escultura

Speaking of art, the on-ground arts of Mexico is just as worthy of visiting as its underwater ones. If you consider yourself an art junkie, then this museum is a destination you should definitely stop for. This museum hosts frequent international exhibitions and also houses a large collection of Mexican art.

Pay the Island of Holbox a visit ASAP

    Via Expedia

Holbax is an island that attracts tourists and natives of Mexico alike. Want to know why? Because it has sand as soft as flour on which you can lounger, gently rustling palm trees and glittering cobalt blue waters as your view for the day! Its pristine waters qualify the place to be a popular place for sports, scuba diving, and snorkeling enthusiasts.

On foot or through a golf cart taxi, you’ll be able to explore the island’s shopping malls, beaches, and even watch cute flamingos on its shores!

Enjoy an authentic mexican dinning experience in Tulum

    Via Island life Mexico

From the street food vendors to the markets, cool restaurants and cocktail bars, the town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula will surely sign you up for an authentic dining experience.

Tulum offers a bouquet of various restaurants and food spots where you can taste Mexico’s most signature dishes, regional dishes featuring fresh seafood as well as international and Mediterranean cuisine. And of course, you will find excellent spots to feast on some tacos and quesadillas.. their mouth-watering scents on their own would smack you in the face!

    Visit the suburb Tlaquepaque

    Via Lirp

if you’re into Mexican crafts and artisan goods, then Tlaquepaque, Sedona Arizona’s Arts & Crafts Village, will serve you well. It’s a home for contemporary and Southwestern fine art paintings, weavings, decorative arts, architectural décor pieces, as well as stunning large format photography. Its museum, theater, legendary restaurant scene, and architecture will blow your mind too.

Hike and swim in the petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua

    Via Charismatic planet

Oaxaca’s Hierve el Agua waterfalls is one of only two petrified waterfalls in the entire world. You can enjoy great views, hike to see the waterfalls up-close, and swim in its waters! For those who love animals, they can also visit the nearby Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve and a number of animal sanctuaries in the area.
