Every Ramadan, we’re spoiled with a standout series that leaves us begging for more. But some shows end too soon, leaving fans yearning for second seasons or spin-offs. Here’s a list of Ramadan gems we’d love to see return to the screen:

    1. Karima Karima

Karima Karima captivated audiences with its dark humor and compelling storytelling. A second season could delve deeper into Karima’s chaotic life and the people around her, adding even more outrageous twists. How do you think Karima is faring in this economy?

    2. Ga’afar El Omda

A cultural phenomenon, Gaafar El Omda left audiences hooked and was very much the talk of the town for the whole month. We would love to see Mohamed Ramadan put on his Galabya again for a second season. We could explore the aftermath of Gaafar’s dramatic decisions, with new family dynamics and power struggles.

    3. Ahl Cairo

Ahl Cairo, the sharp investigation drama from 2010, deserves another round. Imagine the same lead investigator, Khaled Elsawy, but on a fresh, gripping case—perhaps inspired by real Egyptian crimes.

He could now be a mentor to a younger detective, a dynamic that would add depth to his character while keeping us on edge.

    4. El Saba’ Wasaya

Instead of a sequel, why not a prequel? A new season of El Sabaa Wasaya can explore the lives of the seven characters before the tragedy unfolds, adding layers to their relationships and motivations. A special focus can be on Ousa and her story. Or tell us where did Sayed Nafeesa go.

    5. A’ala Nesbet Moshahda

A’ala Nesbet Moshahda’s sharp commentary on social media fame could take a fresh turn. A new season might follow a different influencer from another social class as she maneuvers the world of trends. Alternatively, since we aren’t over Shaimaa yet, Salma Abu Deif’s character could pick up the pieces of her life after prison.

Will she get drawn back into the world of social media and the dark side of influencer culture?

    6. Kafr Delhab

The eerie village of Kafr Delhab still has more secrets to uncover. A second season could explore the origins of its curse or introduce a new supernatural dilemma. Either way, it’s been a bit since we said chapeau Youssef El Sherif.

    7. Fawazeer Ramadan

We’d love to see the queen of Fawazeer, Sherihan, make a grand return. If that’s not the case, Donia Samir Ghanem will follow in her footsteps perfectly, as she is well known as “banana shame.” She would breathe new life into this beloved Ramadan tradition; just think back to the Pepsi ad from 2011.

    8. Grand Hotel

A generational drama set decades later, focusing on the descendants of the original characters, could reignite the magic of Grand Hotel. Because who could say no to a period masterpiece set in the one and only Cataract Hotel?

    9. Segn El Nesa

A second season of Segn El Nesa could delve into the lives of new inmates. Imagine some characters from the past finding their way back to prison and intertwining their stories with those of new prisoners. This could highlight the ongoing cycle of struggles women face inside and outside of confinement.

    10. Nelly W Sherihan

Fans are still waiting for a continuation of this hilarious duo’s adventures. Another treasure hunt with Nelly W Sherihan, anyone?

These Ramadan series didn’t just entertain us; they became part of our collective memory. Whether it’s the hilarious misadventures of Nelly W Sherihan or the complex lives of Segn El Nesa, each show left an undeniable mark on our screens and hearts.

A second season wouldn’t just be a return to these stories; it would be a celebration of the talent and passion that made these Ramadan dramas so iconic.
