During the World Cup that took place in Qatar, in November 2022 some media outlets and social media activists called out an Israeli man who claimed he was a comedian filming videos with football fans of different nationalities. The comedian, Guy Hochman, who turned out to be an ex-IDF soldier was mocking people and manipulating them into supporting Israel while saying he was there to ‘make peace.’
Yesterday, he posted on his Instagram account a video of him and other IDF soldiers taking over the beach of besieged Gaza and making himself perfectly at home while claiming ownership of the occupied lands saying “Everything here is ours.”
Hochman fled Qatar once his identity was revealed when a Palestinian journalist, Samar Jarrah posted a video on Twitter disclosing his past as an Israeli soldier. The once undercover comedian is now more open about his settler colonial mindset than ever before.
