An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Egypt earlier this morning. The earthquake was felt by Cairo residents along with other governorates at 05:03 local time. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the earthquake was centered 53 km south of Suez and 25 km south east of Al-Ain Al-Sukhna.
It is worth mentioning that this is the second time for Egypt to be hit by an earthquake this week as a 4.2 earthquake was felt by Cairo and Suez residents on Friday Jul. 18, 2014 at 22:01 local time with no damage reported.
Although this morning’s quake was stronger than the first, it did not trend on Twitter most probably because of the timing.
WE SAID THIS: Did you feel the earthquake?
