For Arabs, Eid usually becomes a time for eating and well…more eating. If you’re not eating a big meal, you’re eating kahk or petit fours or any other dessert, but what if you belong to the group of people that are actually trying to stay healthy? Especially around the time of holidays. Well, there are healthier and more dessert options available that will allow you to stick to your dietary objectives while still enjoying Eid with your loved ones. That’s why we’ll show you how to make some of the most delectable desserts using simple, easy-to-follow recipes that will improve your nutrition and help you stay on track. Let’s start baking!

    Fudge Sweet Potato Brownies

Is there no sugar? It’s no problem! This recipe for simple, mega-chocolatey, and clean-eating-approved sweet potato brownies is precisely what you’ve been looking for. This is due to the fact that they are dense and fudge-like, and will completely satisfy your chocolate appetite.

What makes them unique? Well, they’re made with whole wheat and don’t contain much-refined sugar, as well as that they don’t taste like sweet potatoes, but they’re even better. You can eat them whenever you want, and the guilt that comes with having a sugary meal won’t bother you. The ingredients are straightforward, and you won’t need Gordon Ramsay to show you how to prepare them. Sweet potatoes, white whole wheat flour, maple syrup, unsweetened cocoa powder, eggs, cinnamon, and semi-sweet chocolate chips make up the components.

    Chocolate Peanut Butter Caramel Bars

Are you curious about the ingredients? Two of them are already listed in the recipe title, and it’s almost as if they’ve arrived on a noble mission. Because they’re primarily whole grain oats, and they’re also wonderful for snacks, making them a delicious option for those whose love for chocolate is never-ending! The recipe is easy but you’ll need peanut butter, honey, cinnamon, dark chocolate, and old-fashioned rolled oats. A taste from heaven!

    Skillet Cinnamon Apples

Warm, soft, apples wrapped in cinnamon galore, this healthy skillet cinnamon apples recipe is so easy to make and delicious served with ice cream, on pancakes or waffles eaten with a spoon or fork. What’s special about this dessert? Let’s start with the basics. It’s simple to make your own with your favorite apples. You can also control the amount of sugar used by using refined-free sugars. Additionally, for individuals attempting to limit their oil intake, there is an oil-free option. It can also be put together quickly and effortlessly, taking around 20 minutes to complete. Think about it: it’s the classic combination of cinnamon and apples, thus nothing can compare to this masterpiece.

    Chocolate Tahini Cookies

Tahini, also known as sesame seed paste, is often used in savory recipes such as dressings, sauces, and dips, but is versatile enough to be used in sweet offerings as well…even cookies! These cookies which are mostly just tahini, have this melt-in-your-mouth texture and unique flavor profile. The flavor can be intriguing and you need to try it! These Cookies need one Bowl, eight Ingredients, no nuts, no gluten or grains or oil, and will melt in your mouth; chocolatey and surprising. Again, easy recipe that doesn’t need a professional chef to execute, just a dedicated individual looking for that magical taste within healthy boundaries.

    Salted Caramel Tahini Cheesecake

The name itself is already enough, isn’t it? Especially when it’s full of healthy fats and fiber while being both vegan and gluten-free. This vegan cheesecake recipe is simple to make, but you must prepare ahead of time by soaking your raw cashews overnight. Yes, you heard right, it’s cashews! This is because that’s what the middle cheesecake layer will be made of. Next, making your salted caramel sauce the day before and storing it in the refrigerator is also a good idea. It will make your life easier in the kitchen if you prepare the sauce ahead of time. The crust, the middle layer, and the sauce are the three main components of the cheesecake recipe. All that’s left is the crust and creamy center now that your sauce is done and out of the way… the end result will be one that you will never forget.

Food is an important part of our lives, and in the Middle East, we often look for ways to connect food to events in order to make them more memorable and unique to us, as food has always been something we love and appreciate. Nonetheless, all of the hard work you’ve put in during Ramadan should not go to waste. If healthier foods were substituted, it would be better. So keep in mind that Eid can be celebrated with a variety of traditional desserts that aren’t all high in sugar and calories!
