Irish singer, Sinead O’Connor just announced converting to Islam on Twitter. “This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim,” she tweeted. “This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey. All scripture study leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant”, adding that she will be given a new name “Shuhada”.

This is the second time O’connor changes her name. Last year, the artist was referred to as Madga Davitt; a name she chose to be free of parental curses. A video was posted on Twitter of the artist converting to Islam in Ireland.

The ‘Nothing Compares 2U’ singer uploaded a photo of her in hijab and another of Nike’s logo with a “Wear a hijab just do it” message. The singer even gave a try at reciting the Adhan.
