As the world waits for Armin van Buuren’s Tune of the Year in December 2024, one track stands out: “Count on Me.” This collaboration between Egyptian artists Aly & Fila, Omar Sherif, Philippe El Sisi, and Jaren Cerf is a top contender.

Released in September 2024, the track has received rave reviews and reached No. 1 on Beatport’s Trance Top 100. With its infectious energy, “Count on Me” is becoming a global anthem. Fans worldwide are already calling it their tune of the year.

We caught up with the artists behind this record-breaking anthem to uncover the story behind their unique collaboration.

A Track with a Journey: The Creation of Count on Me

The journey to “Count on Me” wasn’t without its challenges. Omar and Sisi initially began working on the track years ago but faced unfortunate, repeated technical setbacks.

“Our PC kept crashing after we completed the idea, and we had to start over from scratch twice,” Sherif recalled. After the third PC breakdown, the duo decided to collaborate with Aly & Fila. Their chemistry in the studio transformed the track into the anthem it is today!

“It was great fun to be in the studio together,” Aly & Fila said, adding that they’ve probably been friends since school. The unity among the artists added an extra layer of energy to the track, which has since resonated with fans across the globe.

Adding the enchanting vocals of composer and lyricist Jaren, who gained international fame with her collaboration with Armin van Buuren on Unforgivable, took the track to new heights.

Representing Egypt on the Global Stage

For the Egyptian artists, the track’s success is a huge achievement.

“It’s a blessing to have a track by Egyptian artists who are also friends,” said Aly & Fila. They expressed their gratitude, noting the track’s global popularity and its potential to win Tune of the Year. The positive reception of “Count on Me” is a proud moment for them and the Egyptian trance community.

The track has thrived at major festivals like FSOE 800 at the Great Pyramids of Giza, Tomorrowland, and Untold Festival. This success has solidified its place as a global anthem. Its impact is undeniable, drawing fans from every corner of the world.
