Although Egypt has a bit of a dusty reputation, fall and springtime in Cairo are our favorite time of the year; it’s not too cold, not too hot, the weather is just perfect. So, since the weather is exactly where we want it to be, we’ve listed some unusual outing ideas for you to enjoy the breezy weather. Scroll down for more!

    Petrified Forest Protectorate

    Via UNDP Egypt

This very unique geological site belongs to the Oligocene geologic time period from 32 to 35 million years old! It’s located to the east of Maadi and stretches over seven square kilometers consisting of breathtaking petrified trees. It definitely deserves a spot on your bucket list.

    Wadi Degla Protectorate

    Via Egypt Today

Nature is literally minutes away. It’s always a great idea to go for a hike, jog, a run, or even just a walk to admire the beauty of nature and enjoy the fresh air, and most importantly the quietness, away from the hustle of the busy city. If you’re a nature lover, you can take your family and friends over the weekend for a BBQ, you can also camp and spend the night at the protectorate to enjoy the breathtakingly magical scenery.

    Friday Antique Market

    Via Ezequiel

Cairo has many faces! Although it’s known for its rich historical heritage and amazing scenery, it has a few lesser-known places that are worth exploring, such as antique and flea markets. Check out El Azbakeya Wall, Souq El Gom’aa (Friday’s Market), and Wekalet El Balah.

    A Walk Through Old Cairo

    Via Tours from Hurghada

Old Cairo walks are the best. To venture deep into the authentic city, enjoy the scenery and explore the beauty of Fatimid/Islamic Cairo is fascinating. This part of Egypt is characterized by wonderful narrow streets and alleys where you can find mosques, tombs, and markets that date back to the Islamic era. If you’re going to take a walk into Old Cairo, make sure to check out El Moez Street and Khan el-Khalili Market, Al-Hussein Mosque, Qalawun Complex, Sabil-Kuttab of Katkhuda, Al-Hakim Mosque and The Northern Gates of Bab al-Futuh and Bab El Nasr. Enlist the help of a guide or a map to avoid getting lost.

    Wust El-Balad

    Via The Culture Trip

Wust El-Balad is known to be the central hub of Cairo where you can admire the grand old buildings, artistic ambiance as well as many cultural hotspots. Make sure to grab your coffee from Groppi, or your favorite beer from Cafe Riche. You can also enjoy the city’s most amazing views from different hotel rooftops such as Carlton, Happy City or Odeon Palace.

    Nile Kayak Club

    Via Trip Advisor

Kayak rides on the Nile are always available where you can start your tour from anywhere in Cairo. Bring your friends and head to the Nile Kayak Club, Egypt’s first recreational kayak club, to enjoy the ultimate adventure on the Nile.

    Fagnoon Art School

    Via Hive Miner

Fagnoon is the perfect place to spend the day. You can bring your kids to learn crafts like pottery, carpentry, agriculture, baking, jewelry making and so much more.  For years, Fagnoon art school has been a place where you can freely express yourself, and develop artistic and creative hobbies.
