What You Can Actually Get for the Price of a Car in Egypt

We all know car prices in Egypt are exorbitant and down right illogical. The price of a Fiat in Egypt can easily have you riding a pretty decent used Chrysler in the U.S.  Here on CarBibles you will find interesting and useful information about automobile ownership and car culture.

This got us thinking about what we could all be riding if we lived in a country that didn’t tax us 200% on each car:

In Egypt, a Fiat Lada costs 56,000 LE (approximately $8,000)

That can get you a used 2008 PT Cruiser in the U.S.

In Egypt, a Speranza A113 costs 68,000 LE (approximately $9,500)

That can get you a 2009 Chrysler Sebring in the U.S.

In Egypt, a Hyundai Verna, full options, costs 92,000 LE (approximately $13,000)

That can get you a 2008 Jaguar X-type in the U.S.

In Egypt, a Nissan Sunni, full options, costs 110,00 LE (approximately $15,400)

That can get you a 2011 1-series BMW in the U.S.

In Egypt, a Volkswagen Golf, full options, costs 220,000 LE (approximately $31,000)

    VolkswagenGolf

That can get you a 2010 Chevrolet Corvette in the U.S.

    In Egypt, a Mercedes B 180 costs 260,000 LE ( approximately $36,000)

That can get you a 2013 Mercedes E-Class in the U.S.

In Egypt, a Jeep Wrangler costs 300,000 LE (approximately $42,000)

That can get you a 2012 BMW 7 series in the U.S.

In Egypt, a Hyundai Sonata costs 400,000 LE (approximately $56,000)

    HyundaiSonata

That can get you a 2014 Jaguar XF in the U.S.

    Jaguarxf

In Egypt, a Toyota Camry costs 764,000 LE (approximately $107,000)

    toyotacamry

That can get you a 2014 Tesla Model S in the U.S.

In Egypt, a Porsche Cayenne 2014 costs 1.3 million LE (approximately $182,000)

That can get you a 2014 Bentley GT in the U.S.

WE SAID THIS: I find it utterly ridiculous that there is a Hyundai for over 400,000 LE and a Toyota for 760,000 LE! Is this not insane to anyone else?

Some call her a workaholic, others call her driven, she calls herself a hustler. Some find her outgoing, others standoffish, she's just a confused intro/extrovert. Spanning over 10 years in the event and marketing industry, Sherry began her career in Egypt's burgeoning Sports Marketing industry, to quickly be recruited by the Middle East's largest Film Studio Rotana Studios to spearhead and manage their Marketing Department, before starting her own company Nineteen84 Luxury & Entertainment Management. Along the way she built some of Egypt's most successful websites, leading up until Scoop Empire, a compilation of her and her 2 partners (best friends) brain child!
