Everyone knows Cairokee, but with their relatively recent stardom, not everyone knows that they began 12 years ago. Over the last couple of weeks, the Egyptian rock band celebrated over a decade together with six concerts supported by the tech brand Huawei.
Their talented friends even joined in with guest appearances, including Hany Adel, Hany el Dakkak and Zap Tharwat. Six fans were also chosen to spend a day with a band — and guess how the winners were picked? A Huawei G8 was used to zoom in on the crowd to choose the lucky winners.
This exciting new relationship is just the beginning for Cairokee and Huawei, our favorite new couple, who plan to do more together in the coming period. For Huawei, it cements their presence in the arts and culture scene, while for Cairokee, they’ll be better able to satisfy their fans with Huawei’s generous support.
The 12th anniversary celebrations started with a surprise concert at the Virgin Megastore in CityStars, where they signed the partnership with Huawei and then gave the hundreds of hardcore fans who showed up a free show.
Then on Nov. 20 and 21, Cairokee performed four outstanding concerts at El Sawy Culture Wheel in Cairo.

The boys then took Alexandria by storm on Nov. 29 with two unforgettable shows at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
