This year’s Cannes Film Festival is coming to an end and the Palme d’Or went to ‘The Square’. We decided take a moment to give our own set of Palmes d’Or prizes to some of the amazing people from our region that made us proud all throughout the 70th Cannes Film Festival.

    Mohamed Diab

After the nomination of his movie ‘Eshtebak‘ last year, Mohamed Diab had the honor of coming back to the festival as a jury member for the Un Certain Regard category that is presided by Uma Thurman.

    Saba Mubarak

A post shared by Saba Mubarak (@sabamubarak) on May 19, 2017 at 7:26am PDT

Jordanian actress Saba Mubarak was at the Cannes Film Festival, mainly as a producer.

Kaouther Ben Hania & Mariam El Feriani

Tunisian director and actress of ‘Beauty and The Dogs‘ were of course present for the movie’s nomination in the Un Certain Regard category.

    Queen Rania

A post shared by Queen Rania Al Abdullah (@queenrania) on May 22, 2017 at 2:52am PDT

The humanitarian activism of Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan was given recognition at Naomi Campbell’s Fashion for Relief charity show. The event was part of the “Every Last Child” campaign in aid of Save the Children.

    Elie Saab

As usual, Lebanese designer Elie Saab dressed some of the biggest celebrities in town for the festival.

The 70th Cannes festival was no exception for Georges Hobeika’s designs either as the brand was worn by Victoria Secret model Cindy Bruna, Turkish actress Fahriye Evcen and many more.

    Zuhair Murad

A post shared by Sara Sampaio (@sarasampaio) on May 18, 2017 at 4:11am PDT

We of course loved when Sarah Sampaio wore Zuhair at the festival’s opening carpet.

    Razane Jammal

Lebanese actress Razane Jammal made some beautiful appearances throughout the last week of the festival.

Anicée studied a lot of serious sh** to end up spending her life at some of the most frivolous events around the world, from red carpets to festivals. TV producer/director, reporter and occasional writer, Anicee wants to remain a child forever and gets excited about baby goats, Nutella, good movies, the beach, and weirdos. Half Egyptian half French, living in Soho London, on the road most of the year, she would be best described as a nomad with serious commitment issues. @aniceegohar
