Egypt has been known for a lot of things, other than culture, food and generous people, our fashion used to be one of the top leading fields and top designers from dresses to shoes to perfumes were to die for. Runways were weekly and every month there was a new collection out there, now this is not as much now however we decided to look back on the evolution of fashion in Egypt starting off 1920 throughout our great actors and actresses.
In 1920 the movie industry was not yet fully flourished and for that the fashion was all about the people and everyone can buy or make but mostly make and it was all about cute little hats.
1950 is when most of our great actors and actresses were out there not only making history with their movies but also spreading signature looks from Faten Hamama to Hend Rostom and let’s not forget about polished handsome men who took our breath away.
In 1970 everything was upside down by then, other than Nadia Elgendy’s screams there was awesome hair and great music and we rocked some parties.
By 1990 we were almost done, we had a history of designers and movies and tv-shows and Sherihan was blasting it, yes most of our good actors dies but another generation was ready up and going and by then we always went for the simple looks.
Now you might think that 2010 was far away but it’s not my friend only 6 years ago we started wearing international and the Middle Eastern designers started going worldwide.
