5 Cheaper Alternatives to MAC Lipstick and Where to Get Them in Egypt

Sometimes, I don’t get the big fuss around MAC Cosmetics. I mean, yeah, I admit they are really good, but there are other lipsticks that are as strong as MAC in texture and that are just as long-lasting. And sometimes, they are even cheaper. Normally, MAC lipsticks cost around 230 to 270 EGP here in Egypt.

Here are some brands that can be your alternative to MAC and that are half the price:

    1. Wet n Wild

    wetnwild

This lipstick is for the long ride! Just apply, go out and it will stay on for hours before it starts to fade. Wet n Wild lipstick in Egypt costs around 70 to 100 EGP.

Recommended shade: “Doll House Pink,” which is the same shade as MAC’s “Pink Nouveau”

    2. Maybelline New York

    maybelline

We all have Maybelline in our makeup collection, but the thing that many people don’t know is that Maybelline New York has a wider range of lipsticks than are available in Egypt’s main makeup stores like Mazaya and Faces. Maybelline’s lipsticks cost around 100 to 200 EGP.

Recommended shade: “Divine Wine,” which is the same as MAC’s “Diva”

    3. Revlon

    revlon

When it comes to creamy lipsticks, Revlon is the boss! You can find most of the MAC lipstick shades you love with Revlon for half the price and pretty close quality. Revlon prices in Egypt range from 100 to 200 EGP.

Recommended shade: “Soft Nude,” which is the same as MAC’s “Crème d’ Nude”

    4. Nyx

    nyx

Okay, let me tell you how AMAZING this brand is! Nyx Cosmetics is a huge deal in the U.S. and now in the Arab world as well. Nyx offers unique shades of lip liners and lipsticks that you should definitely try. Nyx lipsticks in Egypt cost around 100 to 150 EGP.

Recommended shade: “Transylvania,” which is the same as MAC’s “Smoked Purple”

    5. Rimmel

    rimmel

Rimmel recently launched a collection with Kate Moss and it was a huge success. Their lipstick collection features different shades of nude, pink, coral and red. Rimmel lipsticks cost between 70 to 100 EGP in Egypt.

Recommended shade: “Kate Moss 01,” which is the same as MAC’s “Russian Red”

Now let’s talk business! Here are a few places in Egypt where you can find international makeup brands, including the above, as well as top brands like MAC, Nars, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Benefit and much much more.

Twenty-something. Aries. Workaholic. Has an unhealthy obsession with Makeup and hair coloring. Believes that some girls should be executed for applying makeup horribly. Has a passion for dark lipsticks and blue eyeliners. Black is her color. Lives to contour and highlight. Need more? I think this is enough for now.
