Why We Demand the Return of TV Show ‘Al Raqisa: The Belly Dancer’

The TV channel Al Kahera we Al Nas keeps throwing controversy our way with their content. One of our favorites this past year was Al Raqisa. As controversial as it might have been, everyone watched and obsessed nonetheless. The televised belly dancing competition that brought us the best performers from all over the world was a hit.

Hate Dina as much as you want, but at the end of the season, she gave us two — if not more — belly dancers that are taking over Egypt with a storm of glitter, hair whipping, sensuality and head-to-toe shimmy.

The two reasons we demand the return of our favorite talent show are Oxana and Alla. I know all you have seen this past year was Maya, and we love her, and we do realize how many people are against Russians and Eastern Europeans invading our Oriental culture, but have you seen these two women dancing lately? INSANITY.

Club M: Rubies surprised us all this summer when this beauty took the stage. The crowd went crazy. She is the hottest thing to appear on our beloved North Coast, not only because of the way she moves every single inch of her body flawlessly to every word and beat, but also her outfits, the way she engages with people around her and the eye contact that left men crying. Honestly, it was too much.

    I wish you good day dear friends. #msar #egypt #halwa #beautyofbellydance #lovedance #danceshow #oriental #followme #follow4follow #instagram #followmefollowback #followmefollowyou #fashion #lovebellydance #bellydancers #bellydancer #bellydancing

    Oxana

Screen Shot 2015-10-18 at 10.32.28 AM This woman is the definition of a fireball. Her energy and talent are out of this world. She is incredibly athletic and fit. You should see her whipping people on the dance floor with that fiery ginger hair. Oxana is what dreams are made of and she brings something completely different to the scene.

If it wasn’t for such shows, we would have still been stuck with mundane average entertainers. These two women are officially a threat to every belly dancer in the country. If this is the kind of entertainment quality we’ll get after a belly dancing talent show, then by all means we demand a second season and we kindly ask those who are constantly offended to get over their righteous selves and stop acting like they don’t have a weak spot for belly dancers.
