Bunz, Cairo’s newest kid on the block when it comes to burgers, wraps and sandwiches, lit up our tastebuds last week with a delicious selection of its classic menu items. Offering everything from delicately breaded onion wings to its wicked Wild West Burger, Bunz left us pretty pleased.
Located in Maadi, just off the Corniche el Nil, Bunz provides outdoor seating for its customers but is primarily a delivery service. Here’s what we recommend:
APPETIZERS
Sweet Potato Fries
Made from real, hand-cut sweet potatoes, the sweet potato fries were among our favorite of Bunz’s appetizers. The flavor of the sweet potatoes carried through well, although we would’ve liked a bit more spice. Especially paired with the garlic mayo, the sweet potato fries were a standout.
Onion Rings
We loved the onion rings. They were well-breaded, crispy, with a nice crunch that was complimented perfectly by the the BBQ and honey mustard sauces.
Potato Skins
The potato skins were a personal favorite. Imagine a baked potato, stuffed with beef bacon and sealed shut with a layer of melted cheese!
Mozzarella Cheese Bites
These tiny balls of melted mozzarella cheese, breaded and fried to perfection, did not disappoint. They weren’t too greasy, the kryptonite of most restaurants, and the texture was on point.
BURGERS
Wild West Burger
Packed with all the fixings, BBQ sauce and onion rings, this burger was named after a popular style of burger in the U.S.’s deep South. We were already impressed with Bunz’s onion rings, so why not try it on a burger as well?
Bacon N’Cheese Burger
Who doesn’t love a good bacon cheeseburger? Delicious beef bacon and cheddar cheese melted together between two delicate buns. The bacon was good quality, unlike the disappointing bacon offered by many other burger chains in the area.
Mushroom N’Cheese Burger
Loaded with beautifully-cooked mushrooms melted and mixed with cheese, this burger is for all the mushroom lovers out there.
