Step Into the Salon For All the Reasons 80 Bako Is Ramadan’s Must-Watch Show

We had Nady El-Regal El-Serry, but now it’s time to get a backstage ticket into the women’s world—and no better way to do so than stepping into their hair salon. 80 Bako follows Boosy, a hairdresser struggling to save 80,000 pounds for her marriage, leading her into a new world as a private stylist.

A social commentary at heart, the salon is a microcosm of everyday life. 80 Bako is shaping up to be one of the top watches this Ramadan, and here’s why we’re already obsessed!

    1. Relatable Chaos: Gossip, Eavesdropping & Salon Shenanigans

Step into any salon, and you’ll witness a social masterpiece. The stylists gossiping like they’re breaking news, the little boy running wild like he owns the place, customers eavesdropping on every juicy detail, and the classic ‘arousa’ greeting—whether you’re single, married, or just there for a trim.

If you’ve been there, you get it. It’s giving peak salon culture, even capturing the uncensored girls’ talk—waxing horror stories, eyebrow threading, and all the stuff you only see when you’re in that chair.

    2. The Humor We Can’t Get Enough Of

From stylists promising you’ll leave looking like Georgina Rodriguez (spoiler: you won’t), to the brutal honesty of “Who did your hair last?” (it was them), and the infamous “Say yes or no, we’re doing it anyway” hair makeovers—this show is serving comedy gold.

    3. The Sad Reality Wrapped in Laughs

It’s not all fun and games. 80 Bako is bringing real struggles to the screen—the uncle who ‘borrows’ inheritance money (never to return it), the tough grind of lower-class life, the dreams of escaping to Italy illegally, and the endless, often heartbreaking, hustle for a better future.

It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s what makes the show hit differently.

    4. Entesar as the Hair Salon Boss? Perfection

If there’s one thing we’re already sure of, it’s that Entesar, as the hair salon manager, is going to be legendary. She’s bringing the attitude, the humor, and the realness.

    5. Huda El-Mufti: Breaking Stereotypes Like a Pro

Everyone thought Huda El-Mufti was stuck in Maadi girl roles forever—until now. The gum-chewing, street-smart hairdresser with blonde streaks in her hair? She’s nailing it. If her hair is proof of the salon’s capabilities, then we’re… cautiously observing.

    6. Kawthar Younis: Women Representing Women

With Kawthar Younis in the director’s seat, 80 Bako isn’t just another Ramadan series—it’s a story about women, told by women, with all the authenticity and depth that comes with it.

    We’re Already Hooked

Between the drama, the comedy, and the too-relatable salon moments, 80 Bako is shaping up to be one of the most entertaining shows this Ramadan. If you’ve ever stepped into a hair salon, you know this series is about to hit close to home. We’re ready—are you?

Malak cannot seem to get enough of Literature - so much so that she has pursued it in both her BA and MA, and the love affair is still going strong. Aside from her love for words, humans generally fascinate her. She spends a lot of her time analyzing the minds of people around her and watching criminal minds. She is still fairly new in adulthood, and until now, nothing has made sense in life but chocolate.
