Yesterday Lebanese fashion designer Georges Hobeika left audiences spellbound during his show at the Paris Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023-2024 fashion week. The designer showcased a stunning collection of haute couture dresses in a range of vibrant colors, each more dazzling than the last. Hobeika’s designs expertly merged glitz and glamour with elegance, featuring heavy beads and sequins that shimmered on the runway. The dresses were tailored to accentuate the model’s figures, with a few pieces emphasizing volume and shape for added drama. It was truly a testament to Hobeika’s incredible talent and vision.

Hobeika is a world-renowned fashion designer, known for his incredible talent and exquisite designs. Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1962, Hobeika was one of eight siblings and grew up helping his mother in the family’s boutique. It was here that he first discovered his love for fashion design and honed his skills as an assistant to his mother.

After studying civil engineering and pursuing architectural design, Hobeika left Lebanon due to the Civil War and headed to Paris. There, he gained valuable experience as an intern for several Parisian fashion houses, including the iconic Chanel. This experience, combined with his natural eye for design, helped him to establish his own successful brand.

In 1995, Hobeika opened his own atelier in Beirut, which quickly gained recognition and success. He presented his first show in Paris in 2001 at Hotel K, and has since showcased his couture collections every biannual Paris Couture Fashion Week. His shows are always attended by A-list guests, adding to the allure of his designs and garnering attention from top fashion magazines.

Today, Hobeika manages his own fashion house, which includes four lines: Georges Hobeika Couture, Georges Hobeika Bridal, Georges Hobeika Signature, and GH by Georges Hobeika. Despite his worldwide success, Hobeika maintains a strong connection to his roots and draws inspiration from the natural beauty of Lebanon, particularly the mountains where he grew up. His designs are a tribute to his homeland and a celebration of the beauty and elegance of women everywhere.

The designer rose to fame when former Miss USA, Olivia Culpo wore a brilliant red gown, a creation by the designer when she took home the crown.

Priyanka Chopra picked out a signature white strapless gown from his bridal line for her Cannes Film Festival red carpet debut in 2019.

Jennifer Lopez stunned in a Hobeika Couture dress that sculpted on her body and flowed into elegant ruffles in the Venice Film Festival red carpet for The Last Dual.

Actess Zendaya also shined in a Hobeika gown at the Lancôme Idôle fragrance launch event in Paris in 2019.

And just Last month, Beyoncé graced the stage of her Renaissance World Tour adorned in a breathtaking custom-made catsuit by Hobeika.

Hobeika is truly an inspiring figure for aspiring Arab designers in the fashion industry. With his exceptional talent and eye for detail, he has made a name for himself in the highly competitive world of fashion, showcasing his breathtaking designs on some of the most famous celebrities in the industry. His success is a testament to the creativity and skill of Arab designers, and serves as a source of inspiration for those looking to follow in his footsteps. Hobeika’s dedication to his craft, his attention to detail, and his unwavering passion for fashion are qualities that all aspiring designers can learn from and strive to emulate.
