The drug aims to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic lung disease that causes scarring of the lungs and breathing difficulties. The drug, INS018_055, has just completed its first dose on patients as part of Phase II trials, with plans to recruit an additional 60 people in sites across the US and China. The 12-week trial will evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of the orally-delivered drug.
