They say that the healthy mind resides within a healthy body so to try this theory out we have compiled a list of wonderful retreats and resorts around the Middle East that you can visit to treat yourself to a relaxing trip. From Saudi Arabia to Qatar, the list covers it all.

    Habitas AlUla, Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Habitas AlUla 3D printed resort is approximately a 10-hour drive from Riyadh, a 7-hour drive from Jeddah, 3 hours 20-minute drive from Medina, and just over a 3-hour drive from Tabuk Airport. The best time to visit there is typically October to April, with temperatures ranging from a pleasant 10–25 degrees Celsius (45–70 degrees Fahrenheit).

Once you’re there, the Thuraya Wellness lounge will greet you with an open arm to restore and relax. It’s named after a star constellation widely used by bedouins to navigate. The lounge offers a peaceful space with an alchemy bar, spa treatment rooms, a fitness center, an outdoor wellness agora, and a yoga studio. The yoga studio offers a chance to recharge yourself by improving the clarity of thought and the awakening of your physical body, where the soul achieves a greater sense of balance.

    Zulal Wellness Center, Qatar

The Zulal Wellness Resort can be found in Qatar’s capital Doha and officially opened on March 29, 2022. The resort offers private spaces that are dedicated to guests 16 years and over. This whole Serenity experience is designed for those seeking a path of reset and reflection. In other words, it is a place to escape to, where you can contemplate and embrace lasting lifestyle change.

The treatments there address all aspects of integrative well-being, from a specific physical issue to spiritual equilibrium. The Zulal Wellness Resort is a specialist in Traditional Arabic & Islamic Medicine and has expertise in holistic healing, other ancient systems of medicine, and the latest in well-being technology. From massages, movement, and fitness classes, to beauty treatments, and energy-based therapies, it seems like the go-to spot to kick off the new year.

    The Retreat Palm MGallery, Dubai

Located on the beach, The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel is a wellness resort offering, “an immersive experience that inspires life-long memories”. Through a holistic approach, the Rayya Wellness Center offers organic products as well as rejuvenating experiences and transformational retreats.

This includes a variety of well-being therapies and signature spa treatments, including cryotherapy, detoxifying facials, and the traditional Hammam. In terms of logistics, Dubai Marina is a 10-minute drive from the resort, while Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall are 20 minutes away by car. The hotel also provides a complimentary daily shuttle bus service to the Mall of Emirates at scheduled times and the nearest airport is Dubai International Airport, which is 25 km from the resort.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, Oman

Located in the sunny Al-Hajar mountains, on the bend of the Arabian Peninsula, this resort is known for its upgraded majlis-style sit-outs, and pool villas. The resort is known as the Gulf of Oman, and the hotel’s main aim is a pure wellness retreat, boasting to have the highest pools, stargazing bays, and tennis courts in the Middle East.

The nearby mountains and enticing spa make this resort an extravagant experience as it hosts energy-boosting hammam rituals of scented frankincense perfumes. The Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar resort is perhaps Oman’s notable wilderness hotel and special retreat for those looking to replenish their souls.

    Siwa Oasis, Egypt

When we say ‘Siwa Oasis’ in Egypt, we are talking about Cleopatra’s bath which is considered to be one of Siwa’s most popular landmarks. It is a must-visit during your trip to the oasis as you can find this muscle-relaxing warm spring along the path leading to the Temple of the Oracle. If you don’t wish to jump into the spring, you don’t have to as you can sit back and relax at one of the surrounding shaded cafeterias overlooking the spring.

There, you’ll be able to swim in hot and cold mineral springs to cleanse your energy in the salt lakes while experiencing authentic tribal drumming by engaging with the locals. Siwa is known for delicious dates and olives, even making their very own olive jam, the remote destination is the perfect spot to unwind and reconnect.
