Because your wedding dress is the hardest thing you’ll ever buy in your life. Because what better way to shop than locally? Because these designers need some more recognition.

    Reem Acra

    reemacra

This gorgeous silver wedding gown is simple, delicate, yet refreshing. Acra uses new silver and pearl fabrics to put a twist on the traditional stark white. This gown in particular doesn’t have much lace, layering, or gems but Acra’s innovative use of fabric makes it undeniably stunning.

    Elie Saab

Elie Saab never disappoints, whether its bridal couture or haute couture. Saab is a genius and beyond a doubt one of our absolute favorite designers not just in the Middle East, but in general. This heavily adorned gown is absolutely stellar and fantastical. It reminds us of something a Disney princess would wear. Saab is one of the fashion industry’s most renowned designers, his pieces worn by Beyonce, Lily Collins, Angelina Jolie, Emma Watson and Mila Kunis.

    Zuhair Murad

    zuhairmurad

This exquisite piece is absolutely jaw-dropping. The form-hugging mermaid style is elegant and sexy, while the heavy lace reclaims the feminine aspect bridal couture. The long, ornate veil is edged with thick designs and a sheer, silky base. Zuhair Murad designed the Egyptian-inspired attire for Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” music video and tour.

    Rami Kadi

    ramikadi

Kadi’s revolutionary incorporation of metallic laces into bridal gowns sparked a series of similarly inspired couture. We absolutely love the dramatic tone set by the gold overlays and thick skirt. Kadi’s pieces are almost high-fashion wedding dresses. Not for the faint-hearted, but very impressive.

    Maison Yeya

    maisonyeya

Yasmine Yeya’s creation are the pride and joy of the Egyptian fashion industry. Possibly the most renowned and sophisticated designer this nation has come to produce, her designs are romantic, soft, lacey and lovely. If you’re looking to feel like royalty on your wedding day—this is the way.

    Krikor Jabotian

Innovative, modern, progressive, but still ladylike. Jabotian is a newer addition to the Lebanese fashion scene, a disciple of Saab, with a very bright future it seems. His careful layering of lush fabrics and tasteful flower accents all make his pieces truly classy. Not to mention the unique and rather cute length of the shorter gowns.

WE SAID THIS: Don’t miss our interview with Yasmine Yeya.
