12 Reasons Why No One Can Replace Gedo and Teta

Grandparents are the cherry on top to every grandchild’s life. There’s no bond quite as special, no love that can ever be quite as strong and no person who could ever take their place.

If you’re lucky to still have your grandparents around, cherish every little second with them, because no one will love you they way they do.

And to those like myself who weren’t as fortunate to be blessed with their continued presence, here’s a reminder of why no one will ever replace them in our hearts.

They tell you embarrassing and funny stories about your parents

    COLLEGE ATTITUDE
No one knows your parents better than your grandparents, they’ve seen them grow up, seen their worst side and know just how much they’ve messed up in order to become the people they are today.

There’s no better feeling than watching teta put your mum or dad in place and showing you that your parents were just as human as everyone else (even though they don’t like to admit it!) – and the best thing is, they have evidence in hard copy!

    They tell the best stories

    grandma-kids
When you’ve lived as long as they have, you always have the best stories to tell. Whether it’s gedo’s stories from the war or how things used to be when they were young, or their love story that has lived this long, they can entertain you like no one else!

They’re the only people you can run away to, without your parents minding

    runaway
Everyone goes through that phase where it’s constantly edgy with your parents. So what better way to avoid all that fighting than to run away and go stay with your grandparents for a while. The best thing is that your parents can’t really object, it was where they grew up themselves, after all!

They have nothing but love for you

    60494de6f57303cc9306c7c109a0a4e8
Somehow, you feel more love coming from teta and gedo than from your own parents. Parents are so focused on making sure you’re being raised properly, you’re studying, you’re eating, you’re growing up with all the right sets of values and morals, that they tend to overlook the love in order to make all this happen.

But with grandparents, the feeling of responsibility is substituted with an endless, unconditional love for you and that is all! No wonder they hold a special place in our hearts.

They give the best pep talks

Feeling blue? Head straight to your grandparents and they’ll remind you what an amazing person you are because they only see the best in you. They word it with so much love and wisdom, that their love runs through your soul, pushing all the negativity out.

They make it a mission to feed you til you burst

I don’t know if it’s part of the handbook of “How to be a Grandma” or its just by coincidence that all tetas are excellent cooks, but there is no way on earth you’ll ever go home hungry (or extremely stuffed) after visiting your grandparents. All they want to do is stuff you with food and take it as an insult if you even try to say you’re full!

They’re good actors when they need to be, especially at faking heart attacks

If there’s any advantage of getting old, it’s how you can use your health or illness to your advantage. When your grandparents are on your side, you know you’re on the winning team.

They can fake a heart attack or leave a dying message to their children to get your parents to wake up and do whatever it is you want! Smart, huh?

    They’re your number one fans

    o-GRANDPARENTS-facebook

They’ll be at your concerts, cheering and excited even if everyone else is throwing tomatoes. They’ll be thrilled to hear every little update and will constantly brag about you in front of anyone who’ll listen.

The pride they have whenever your name comes up shows from how much their face glows. So be sure that you’ll always have someone that backs up all your moves and keeps pushing you forward.

They understand the meaning of true love

Having that special bond with them is nothing like anything you’ll ever feel with anyone else. Yes, you love your uncles, your aunts, your cousins, but they’re not your grandparents.

If that isn’t enough to help you understand the true meaning of love, just take one look at how gedo still gazes at teta and your faith in love will be restored.

    They teach you patience

Being old does have its downside and with that, most grandparents tend to be quite slow. Their memory doesn’t always serve them quite as well as you’d want it to, so repeating yourself becomes routine. You’ll get to teach them how to use technology or keep them up to date, and that won’t be easy.

Having your grandparents in your life will teach you patience, as well as the importance of family and special bonds.

They have the answers to everything

    a5f9e168d1edc1f36a1b22242fe467f4

Even Google can’t answer the questions your gramps can. With all their wisdom and experience, they miraculously seem to have the answers to everything!

They give you the best relationship advice, help you find your way and remind you that the difficulties in life are just a phase. Take their advice seriously, it will always be extremely beneficial.

    They spoil you

    grandparents

Pampering is just one of their many talents. Get ready to be smothered with hugs and kisses even if you’re 30! They’ll always try to make you happy and get you the best gifts! Just don’t abuse it. We’ll always be lucky to have them!
