Losing someone can be particularly difficult since we are exposed to a wide range of complex emotions; however, grieving can be the most common feeling we experience. Grief has an impact on our mental health and can lead to feelings like despair and anxiety, which make us feel isolated from the rest of the world. Furthermore, when we lose individuals, it feels as if the entire world comes to a halt, and we begin to reflect on our previous interactions with them. The good and bad, and the ones that have miraculously gotten ingrained in our hearts and minds.

With the emergence of COVID-19, people all around us have been experiencing grief like never before! As a result, losing loved ones is utterly devastating to us and to our souls. We are then immersed in a series of stages that have a significant impact on our mental health.

Some people succumb to denial, refusing to acknowledge that someone has passed away from their lives. This is a stage in which people often feel trapped inside for an extended amount of time.

Then there’s Anger, which is characterized by people blaming life for the catastrophe that has befallen them. The individual who has lost someone close to them will have a lot of questions at this moment. Questioning life and death, as well as their own purpose and what life will be like once their loved ones have passed away.

Consequently, we will experience a period of depression in which we believe the world has lost its significance and that nothing can ever fill the emptiness. When someone we care about dies, we experience a sense of emptiness. This is a stage in which our mental health is substantially impacted, and we begin to feel uneasy throughout the day.

Is this, however, the end of our story? Isn’t there any hope for our future? No, of course not. There are reasons to be optimistic; this is where we feel acceptance at the end of the grieving process. We accept the conditions and become more aware of our existing situation. In most cases, this is how we deal with grief. Some people will go through all of these stages, while others will only go through one. Every person on our world is a unique individual with a unique mentality and emotions. As a result, understanding ourselves and feeling more connected to ourselves is more important than anything else in the world. We must regain our sense of self-awareness and overcome grief, which is not an easy experience to overcome on one’s own.

WE SAID THIS: Grief is never easy, but we all go through it and come out on the other side!
