Regular exercise has many benefits for our mental and physical health and wellbeing. Finding something you enjoy will make exercise feel like less of a chore and will make you happy when you participate. If you love sports and have good hand-eye coordination, then you should consider trying baseball. Baseball is fun, sociable, and has a lot of benefits related to physical shape and strength. Today, we will be taking a look at eight reasons why you should give baseball a try.

    Burns Calories

    Via Direct energy

Physical activity is known to boost your metabolism and reduce body fat. When you exercise by playing baseball, you burn calories. It is important that we burn calories from food and beverages for energy and weight loss. As you build up muscle through playing baseball, you will burn more calories because muscle requires more energy than fat. This will help you maintain a healthy weight.

    Cardiovascular Health

Taking care of our hearts is very important for long and healthy life. Heart disease can develop if you don’t exercise regularly or eat the right foods. If you already hit the gym, or carry out a cardio workout. you may find that grabbing a baseball bat, glove and ball and taking part in a baseball practice or game can be much more fun and exciting, and a highly effective substitute.

    Improves Many Skills

    Via Minn post

One of the best things about playing baseball is that it improves many skills. You have to practice balance, strength, fitness and have good hand-eye coordination in order to become a decent member of the team. You will also improve your communication skills as you have to work well with a group of people in order to succeed.

    Keeps You Busy

Being bored and unproductive can be very damaging to our mental and physical health. Baseball gives you something to focus on and has the ability to keep you busy during your spare time, whether it’s at home, practicing with a friend or family member, or meeting up with the team for practice or a game or to celebrate and unwind afterward.

    Muscular Conditioning

    Via Eat right

When you play baseball, many different muscle groups are worked. The position in which you choose to play will determine which muscle groups are worked the most. When playing as a team, you should consider the benefit your hobby has on all of your health. To strengthen muscles before the big game, purchasing equipment for both pitchers and hitters for practice is recommended.

    Social Benefits

Sometimes you need more than talent to build an unstoppable team. Many professionals involved in the world of baseball will agree that the chemistry found among a team is just as important as a decent coach and natural skill. When it comes to playing baseball, exercise and teamwork will be promoted alongside each other.

    Strengthens Legs

    Via Soft touch bases

Everyone knows the importance of leg day; however, many of us forget to prioritize a day for our legs at the gym, which can make us look out of proportion. Baseball works many of the major muscle groups in our legs. It is a complete workout for our lower body, making our legs stronger and more defined. For example, catchers exercise their legs through squatting to retrieve a ball.

    Sunlight Exposure

Sunlight has many benefits for our body. One of the main ones is that it triggers the release of hormones, such as serotonin. Serotonin is known to improve our mood. Without enough sun, our mood can dip, which can lead to a mental health disorder. Exposure to sunlight, alongside exercising, is a great way to increase the levels of ‘happy hormones’ in our body, as they both trigger their release.

Besides the obvious advantages of physical exercise, baseball has a lot of subtle benefits we may not think about. It’s great for our social lives and mental health, so should not be overlooked as a sport to participate in.
