Forty percent of plastic is used mainly for product packaging; I just want you to think of all your plastic products lying on your shelf. Let’s face it, we’re all guilty!
So, here are a few tips to make your beauty routine more eco-friendly.
Choose multi-tasking products
Why don’t we start investing in multi-use, hybrid products that address two things instead of one? This way, you’ll be able to save on packaging, reduce waste, and save money too!
Use products in small amounts
Small amounts of products will go a long way. When using your products try not to slather it all on you, use the amount you need.
Use reusable razors
If shaving is your hair removal method, then trade in your plastic disposable razors for the reusable, stainless steel ones.
Ditch the makeup wipe
Makeup wipes are seriously damaging the environment, and on the long run, they’re not good for your skin. Replace them with muslin cloths; those cleanse, remove impurities, and work as a gentle exfoliator at the same time.
Look for the recycle symbol
One of the easiest ways to be more eco-friendly is to simply look for the recycle symbol when shopping, as they’re made from recycled materials that can actually be reused or recycled once again.
Buy products that use minimal packaging
I advise you to buy brands that use glass to pack their product, as it’s very easy to recycle. You can also use glass jars for other useful purposes later on.
Purchase sustainable tools
Make sure when buying your hairbrushes and make-up brushes that they are made from recycled or sustainable materials like bamboo.
