After spending the last three days in Egypt, the French President Emmanuel Macron is preparing to leave back to France. The diplomatic trip has strengthened the relations between both countries in different fields; Egypt, in particular, has secured a whopping 1.6 billion Euros worth in agreements.
As the French-Egyptian summit draws to a conclusion, it would only be appropriate to showcase the highlights of the visit in pictures. So, here are the most iconic moments from President Macron’s visit to Egypt.
Macron’s visit to Abu Simbel in Aswan, Upper Egypt
Before landing in Cairo to meet Egypt’s President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi, France’s president stopped by the Abu Simbel temple in Aswan, to marvel at the Pharaonic civilization of ancient Egypt. The look in President Macron’s eyes conveys the respect he holds for Egypt and its culture.





His arrival in Cairo to meet with President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi at Ittihadya Palace
The French president, his wife, and the French delegation were welcomed to the Egyptian capital by the Egyptian President Al-Sisi. At the Egyptian presidential palace, each of them gave a statement at a joint press conference.




His speech at the French Embassy in Cairo on Monday
Speaking with members of the French community in Egypt, President Macron stressed the importance of Egypt’s success, given its size, location, history, and military capabilities.

President Macron’s visit to the New Administrative Capital on Tuesday
On Tuesday, President Al-Sisi took his French counterpart on a tour to the New Administrative Capital; Macron got to see firsthand the different ongoing projects that Egypt’s government is working on.


Macron goes to St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbasia
Macron also paid a visit to His Holiness Pope Toadros II, the Patriarch of the Orthodox faith in Egypt.




His visit to Al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo
The French president was scheduled to meet with The Highest Imam of Al-Azhar Mosque, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, to discuss religion, climate, and other things.

While visiting The Citadel of Salah El Din, Brigitte Macron, the French president’s wife, paid a visit to Mohammad Ali’s Mosque as well as the late Khedive’s shrine.
