The tuition and bus fees have skyrocketed, making it quite challenging for parents to guarantee a decent education, even in national schools. Last year, a father shared his son’s ordeal while applying at Collège de la Sainte Famille school, referred to as Jésuites. After the assessment, the teacher called his son spoilt and suggested changing nurseries. It goes without saying, the father and son were devastated after being rejected. This is not a single case, parents have been raging over the process of admission and the fact that children have to be recommended to someone at the school board to be accepted. Talk about fair chances!
The father posted another story this year that went viral for a good reason. The boy has been easily accepted at a school in Louxembourg. Most schools in Luxembourg are run by the state and are free. Education is mandatory between ages 4 to 16 years old, and most schools are multilingual.

According to the father, his son was accepted without any previous asessment and the school was chosen according to his residential district. The parent couldn’t hide his surprise that the process was that simple and humane, only to be told by the school administator that children are not expected to know organic chemistry for acceptance.
One of the biggest failures in Egypt remains to be the education system. From children being rejected for being slightly behind, to others who don’t know the right people, it is a disgrace.
