Intro
Everyone is enjoying their glowing sunkissed bods, but it’s mid-summer only and you’re probably on one of two teams. Either the team that’s spending the weekend locked at home or the other half that hits the Alamein road every Thursday. Eitherways, your wallet has to be in utter pain; unless you’re secretly an heir/heiress to an Arab Prince.
No matter how many beach destinations we have in Egypt, we cannot deny that Sahel never gets old and will always remain the most popular. However, in case you’re not an old-school Sahel kind of person, then your kind of Sahel has gotten ridiculously expensive. With the inflation rate and the skyrocketing prices these days, it has gone out of control for sure. Lucky for you, you don’t need to pay that amount of money for a weekend by the Mediterranean coast to enjoy your time.
Of course, that amount varies from one person to another. You could be a hotel kind of person, one that hunts down rentals, or you might be lucky enough to crash at a friend or cousin’s place. It also depends on how big your group of friends is so you could split the rent or gas. Not to mention that where exactly in Sahel will you be staying is an important factor. Renting a chalet in “Diplo” will not cost you the same as one in “Diplomats”. That’s why we couldn’t come up with an estimated figure for the cost of your weekend. But anyway, we’ll assume that you’ll be renting a decent chalet with a small group of besties, maybe go to a nice party, and eat at your favorite restaurants. So, if you do the math and willing to pay that amount of money for two nights, then here are seven other alternatives that will make you seven; probably more, times happier!
A week in Sinai

Another trip will also vary from one person to another for the same reasons. However, with your same preferences, criteria, and spending patterns, a week in Sinai will still cost you less than a weekend in Sahel for sure. The Red Sea is a definite plus of course; you can’t deny it’s incomparable.
Round trip to Beirut

Dreaming of more? Well, you can still afford an international trip. Flight tickets are the most expensive element we invest in, but when it comes to Beirut, naah!
GoPro

This is great news if you’re into vlogging your day, travels, or just an adventurer who likes documenting your journeys. Your budget will let you decide which one to buy though.
PADI Open Water Course

Speaking of adventurers, if you’re one of them and been fascinated with our country’s marine life, then you can now afford your dream of getting your open water license.
2 years of Netflix

To the film lovers, the series junkies, and binge-watchers, you could cover two years of your Netflix subscription; or even more if you’re budget’s hefty.
Shopping, LOTS OF SHOPPING!

Girls, clothes, shoes, make-up; you can dream, your wishes will be granted, and you may still have more money unless you buy a whole new wardrobe!
Sziget pass

Again depending on your spending pattern, you could’ve definitely afforded a pass to Sziget music festival this August! Your budget will only help you decide whether it’ll be a 3-day or 7-day pass (the 5-day passes are sold out).
