There are countless reasons why we should all hate the chaos and brutality of Egypt. The easiest decision would be to leave for a cleaner, calmer and unprejudiced life of higher quality. No matter how many times Egypt punches me in the face, I just can’t seem to hate it more than a week.

It is the worst kind of romance for my body and soul, I am taken for granted and constantly working hard just to get by, but what can I say, home is where Egypt is.

Before we all pack up and leave, why not take a walk down the Egyptian lane and celebrate the simple things we take for granted but will terribly miss if we leave.

Can you imagine a weekend without the family’s Friday breakfast?

Let’s not underestimate the power of street food and how much joy it brought us as kids

Back in the days when Eid Al-Fetr was always in winter and we all went to Sharm El-Sheikh

Or when it is wintertime and you go to a more freezing Alexandria or a warmer Luxor and Aswan

Is there anything we crave more than El-Sa7el’s zalabia and Saber’s rozz be laban

Do you know that in countries like Germany you could get arrested and pay an 800-5000 Euro fine if you download a movie? This is a deal-breaker for me, I am never leaving Cairo
